  1. 7.238L per 100km works out at 39.7mls per gallon. I find it hard to imagine a Ct200h using so much fuel unless there is a problem. Hard to imagine many are doing around 50% more miles on the same amount of fuel as yours. I have a 6cl 3.0 Diesel that runs similar numbers to that. The attraction for me to the CT200h was low running costs If I thought I was only going to get 39mpg I probably would have picked something else.
  2. There are a mountain of things than can influence a car's economy performance, laden weight oil viscosity brake wear, fuel grade, tyres (car makers always err on the soft side for comfort, while tyre makers say harder for performance and economy) plus much more. Driving style also comes into play, when my son in law uses my Jaguar XF R-Sport for work when I am off, he gets about 5 mpg less over the same trips. If I want to check fuel usage I always fill to the brim and refill to the same level when low. I doubt many drivers of any vehicle would mirror other drivers numbers. All I can guarantee is our Ct200h at present will do 60mpg and a tad less in winter. Lexus will always be non committal over fuel usage seeing as they advertise it as 4.1lt per 100k 😁 Be interested to see what other owners average on their CT.
  3. Think it depends on usage we do short local trips in the CT and always average 60mpg ish or 4.5L/100km Our Diesel wouldn't even get to running temp by then and would use way more, but on a decent run M roads etc the diesel starts playing catch up. Of course the other thing to consider on low mileage diesel usage is the negative effect it has on the costly DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) causing regeneration problems. Modern diesel cars with all the latest emission controls, are realistically only suitable for trips of 20 miles plus.
  4. Our 14 plate is sitting on a tad over 40kmls at present but we have only done about 7k of those since we bought it in May 2018 😃
  5. Worth considering that with the new Relax, Lexus now offer full manufacture Extended car warranty for FREE! if the car is serviced by them. Worth considering when doing a price comparison. Also signing up for a service plan freezes the price for the next 3 services and can be payed monthly. My next 3 services 2 Major and 1 minor are fixed at £1150 regardless of any price increases to 2024. Add the Full free car warranty and hybrid battery check and it's not a bad deal. Oops! Sorry just realised yours now falls out of the 10yr warranty criteria 😥
  6. Well worth a look Because of the split between fuel and electric % it is extremely unlikely that the chain would ever need renewing under normal conditions. How a Lexus Hybrid Works - Models: CT200H, ES300H, GS450H, RX450H, LS600H Works - YouTube
  7. Copied from another post -: No timing belt, no starter motor, no generator, no accessory belt, no reverse gear, not even a true transmission. No wonder nothing breaks on these cars! 😃
  8. Our Ct is mainly local use and returns 58/60mpg, the main benefit of the Hybrid over our other vehicles though is Maintenance costs. There are no troublesome components fitted like Alternator, Starter motor, or the need for expensive cam belt replacements etc etc. the Lexus is pretty much bullet proof. Ours is over 7 years old now and apart from it's yearly service items nothing has needed fixing no mot advisories Zilch Nada 😁 By comparison my so called high end vehicles are well up the Richter scale with component failures. Owning a CT is like the best dog you ever had 🤣
  9. I just bought a set of 4 chrome of ebay, nicer looking design came with a new key and compares better to the standard nut, not so in your face lol!
  10. Seems like a good deal if you have the car serviced by Lexus I bought my 2 year warranty in April the upside to the paid one is it comes with full Breakdown cover, MOT test and MOT test failure repair warranty that's not included in Relax. The paid Warranty also give you 140k miles or 10yrs instead of 100k miles or 10yrs, only a problem if you do higher mileage. I would have taken advantage of Relax if it had been available at the time but am not too fazed having the additional benefits included in the price. Plus the service plan keeps everything under one umbrella and saves organising the other stuff. I suppose it shows the faith Lexus have in the build quality to offer the Relax warranty, evident in our car never having a reliability issue. I have wasted all that warranty I purchased in the past 😅 totally unnecessary 😥
  11. Trouble with essential it didn't get a proper service, the only things done was basically oil and filter, hybrid battery check and a look see to evaluate the basic condition for the age of the car. You got what you payed for, luckily with the cars build quality it was maybe enough. In that scenario I would be tempted to do the oil and filter myself and just pay for the hybrid test. Whereas with a proper service and warranty you know there are no hidden nasties going to come back and bite you. When I had the brakes done a lot of added bits and pieces like rusty bits and pieces on the caliper's and worn seals were all fitted foc. Just what suits us as individuals I guess, we pays our money lol!
  12. Mine is 2 Major and 1 minor for £1150, paid over 33 monthly interest free payments of £35. The price is locked in for the 3 years, my experience is the prices go up year on year so there is a saving to be made. Saving money by going away from the dealer still presents the issue of having the Hybrid health check to ensure the 15yr battery warranty. This is free when part of a Lexus service but has a cost of £60 per year if required stand alone. The Ct is the cheapest car to service in our household by a country mile and is the only one to run faultlessly in all the time we have owned it, added to that no road tax and high MPG, it IMHO gives very low cost motoring.
  13. The advantage of a service plan, it locks the current price in for the next 3 services
  14. I have just signed up to another 3yr service plan for the Full top service option. 2 Majors and 1 intermediate with Lexus B'ham full cost £1155 over the 3 years. I am cool with that as they do a great job and the car appears bullet proof no issues at all since we bought it. I have also renewed extended warranty although doubt I will need it. On the plus side it includes full Road side assist, mot and mot failure insurance so £495 for 2 years seemed a decent deal, considering AA equivalent is £150 per year plus and MOT say £50 means I am getting full Lexus warranty for another £45 per year. I find they look after you better when you lock into them with taking care of everything.
  15. Just follow the prompts on here in requesting an essential service and it will flag up the price depending on which one, no need to book it here just go as far as the price if that's all you need to know Lexus Essential Care | Lexus UK
  16. It's worth remembering you can nominate f.o.c a shared address partner for the Lexus assist. if you have one who is likely to use the car when you are not in it.
  17. Think it is an on going process this was dated 2019, nice to see they have reduced the replacement cats to more or less cost now. Trouble is the thieves nost realising they have much less value until the try and sell them on. https://mag.lexus.co.uk/catalytic-converter-theft/
  18. So you thought you might delegate the task 😂🤣
  19. You need to make sure you use non acidic shampoos and cleaners to get the best out of a ceramic coating. Reset or other ceramic shampoos deliver this they are in the main alkaline and ph neutral. Reload is a easy top up coat containing 5% silica concentrate both the Reset shampoo and the Reload spray coat keeps the body work very slick so the water just runs straight off. Don't let the Reload dry before buffing off as it may cloud a little just do a panel at a time, 2 times a year should suffice. There are several of these products different makes, go with what your detailer recommends, I just like the Carpro gear. Look after it and it will always stand out above waxed/polished cars no matter how well they have been done and need a fraction of the effort 😉
  20. I did John but they just skirted round the question, and basically said once the warranty expired after the 10th birthday an option to renew wouldn't be offered. They also said if I required any more information to contact my Dealer 😂😉 Guess I will worry about it in 4 years if needed lol!
  21. Best value for money upgrade you will ever do on a high end car. Especially if it's Black or dark colored. I had my XF R-Sport done by a guy in Droitwich about 4 years ago, I had paint correction, Siramik diamond coating he also did the Wheels, painted the callipers red and coated those and put a clear suntek PPF film over the front end. Cost me about £1100 the lot back then. Car always came up like new even the wheels with just a simple wash using ceramic RESET wash and a application of RELOAD top up every 6 to 9 month Google how to dry off a ceramic coated car with the hose pipe, 😃
  22. As long as the warranty is taken out before it's 10th Birthday the expiry date is honoured. Sadly a renewal offer will not be offered on the expiry of that period. Still it should allow me to get another 4years if required taking it to 11yrs old. 😉 Thank you for your email regarding your Lexus Extended Warranty, I can confirm as long as the vehicle was under 10 years old when you purchased the warranty, it will remain valid until the expiry date even if it reaches 10 years old.
  23. Removal time for a cat without v with a Lexus Catlock fitted to a CT200h, goes from less than 3 mins to nearer 30 mins if additional tools are available. Considering the meagre rewards the thieves get from the scrap guy's maybe £50-£100 dunno! I can see why they would not want to spend the additional time stealing a protected cat when there are many more unprotected cars available. Considering the vast number being stolen, my dealer or postings I have read on other sites have no reported owner cases, were Lexus fitted Catloc CT200h cars have had the cat stolen. I am sure there maybe cases but I still consider that the investment I made is most likely a well considered deterrent.
  24. That sounds promising then Gavin, I have fired an email off and will see how they respond. In all fairness in the 3 years that we have owned the car (all under warranty) there has been Zilch go wrong with it. Had it serviced and MOT done today and just replaced wiper blades, I think auto wipe damaged it when frozen to the screen 😄 Still I find at £250 per year including full AA breakdown cover and with the cost of MOT test now included the warranty is great value, so will carry on with it if possible.
