  1. Funnily enough normanski I've had the car in today for laser 4 way alignment. I just felt it wasn't quite right on the way home 134 mile journey. Then went to skegvegas on Sunday on country roads. Tracking was out, not by a huge amount, but enough for me to notice. Thankfully as I've used this tire place for donkies years I didn't get billed the usual amount.. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  2. Cheers linas. It's on 18s. I've set for factory pressures at Moment but may up a couple of psi. Sub 100mph it says 35/38.Think 38/40 might be worth a try Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  3. There is a warning light according to manual but I've not found anything to say it displays tire pressures Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  4. It's argento ice silver steveledzep. To be honest I don't recall seeing any Lexus model in this colour on my travels Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  5. I've found in the manual the tire pressures for sub 100mph use. 35/38 Do you stick to these pressures ? Also can someone explain the tire selector a / b on the computer please ? Thanks Paul Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  6. Well I found the car that fitted the criteria. An honest car... Cared for, but used all the same. It's a 10 plate. 66,000 mile, full Lexus history motor. It was 134 miles away. I downloaded the my Lexus app and tried it. Put reg in and it showed sec/acc/pcs. Having not used the app before I thought maybe it has the acc after all though it could be a generic listing. Fingers crossed. Any way arrived. Looked round the car. Pretty mint. Odd tiny stone chip. Not been abused, not driven behind a gritter truck for hrs. Was quite happy. Looked inside. Mark Levinson, dab radio works, and acc/pcs. So effectively the dream spec. Paul Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  7. Thx for the information trueblue. Well I've gone in with my offer of 10k plus my trade which is about £500. Usual got to talk to my manager rubbish. Well trying to find the right Lexus is proving a nightmare if I'm honest. I'd like a f sport or convertible. Looked at 9 cars upto now. And none were as tidy as my 57 plate 121000 mile 407. !!! Just had photos from a Honda dealer on a 61 f sport. I'd swear the last owner had sat behind a gritter for a few hrs. And obviously on a metallic black car, it looks horrific. Looks shot blasted. I know car paints have got thinner and less durable but.... Do people not car about their cars generally any more !!!! I don't expect brand new or perfect, but I'm not gonna spend upwards of 10k to put something on my drive that's less tidy than the old family bus. I'm not one for washing cars week in week out. It gets a quarterly wash. Will see what the rep comes back with... It's the paint on is250's particularly thin ? Thx Paul Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  8. Mrs has seen an is250c. It's a 59 plate sel with acc. 41k. 3 owners. Service history but not all Lexus so a mixed bag. What kind of price is fair ? It's on at 12500. But the cars 9 year old. Time wise it's not far off plug change, alternator belt I assume will want changing. I suspect fluids will need changing too. I'd have said it's a 10k car personally. Advice please from the people in the know. The cart does look mint tho.... Thx Paul Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  9. Also it might be worth giving a Sheffield shop a call. Moorgate acoustics. They are an audiophile shop with one of the best reps in the UK. Their audio repairer may be able to solve your issue. Give them a call... Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  10. Miller's power eco fuel additive. One bottle does 10 tanks. Miller's oils have a great reputation. I've used it for years. As for premium fuels....it's a con. All fuels in the UK have to meet set bsi /en standards. I will also make a point. We all know petrol goes off when stood. So think about this... How many people in a week / month buy the branded super stuff against the cheaper normal fuel save stuff? How often are the petrol stations tank replenished ? Then look at your big supermarket. If it's remotely as busy as my local shopping centre, then they likely have 2-3-4 deliveries a week. So who's fuel is freshest ? Who's petrol has the most pop as it's constantly being replenished. Who's fuel has less time to accumulate moisture / condensation in the tanks I've tried the branded super fuels.... And for years I've stuck to Sainsbury's squirt. And if you want the high end additives package then look at a 5 litre can off the net of miller's. It brings the cost down to about a third of a penny per ml of additive per litre of petrol or diesel for the extra high end additives package... And for the people running diesels. So you think the HGVs thumping up and down the motorways run premium diesel ? Think again. It's the cheapest squirt a haulier can order in bulk. The difference is the HGV engines working hard. And that's the problem with euro 5 car diesels.... They need a good pasting all the time to keep everything clean and journeys of upwards of 50 miles minimum. But driving a modern car diesel like you've stole it hammers the fuel economy... Hammers your tires as your putting the equivalent torque of a V8 through them constantly and obviously the mechanical stresses to the dreaded dual mass flywheel... Just think about it....!!!!! 11. Cheers guys. What a great bunch of people on this forum. Really appreciated Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  12. I've had good year efficient grips on the pug 2.2hdi after having to make an emergency purchase in the south of France.. That was interesting I can tell you lol. Very good tires and quiet and do decent mileage too. However the only caveat is the slightest bit of snow on an incline and you will slither to a stop. They are dire in those conditions. It was at that point I switched to all season tires with the snow symbol. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  13. Hi everyone. Can you give me any ideas on the life expectancy of the exhaust system on the is250 petrol. What age/mileage and part failures please. I'm about to take the plunge on a 2011 is and obviously the car is 7 years old. I'm going to ask dealer to put on ramps so I can view but suspect they won't do this...h&s bulls##t Cheers Paul Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  14. This website has some really good prices. I think they link to mobile tire fitters too. But please just remember if you have the tires delivered to home or your local tire trusted place, they may charge upwards of a tenner per wheel to change the tires.. www.oponeo.co.uk Mostly good reviews on trustpilot too. 15. A bit of a late reply as I'm new to the forum. I run and have run faulken as200 euro all seasons on my 2.2hdi pug for the last 5 years. Really good tire. Manage around 18k a time. Very good in snow. When they are down to the last few miles you can feel the tires lift in torrential rain. I'm probably going to look at michelin climate control or Goodyear 4 seasons as the tires wear out or maybe nokians as they rate every year as the best out there. 16. If you want to improve the halogens, look at pia bulbs but sit down before you read the price. A cheaper alternative would be osram night breakers.. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  17. Thanks Texas. It's a job I'm going to leave to my local very trusted independent. Can you shed some light on the autobox ? Does the oil need changing ? Have any of you changed the oil ? Tia Shaunomercy Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  18. Thx for the information. I'd seen an 11 plate fsport for sale at Perry's with ml and Perry's were prepared to get the wheels refurbed as they were properly corroded. But there were so many scratches !!! Don't think they could buff them out. Primer showing in places the scratches were so deep. 77000 mile with a mixed history so this se-i is looking a far better option even though I wanted an f sport or se-l. The alloys on the se-i are very tidy. Though having got 18s on my Passat alltrack I'd have preferred 17s for the better ride. Owner has confirmed it's not got hid lights. Bit of a bummer but it's not a deal breaker. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  19. Cheers. I really appreciate the information. I've checked with Lexus as it's got 9 stamps and plugs have not been changed. So would haggling 250 off be unreasonable ? It's just had an mot and a new caliper fitted and disks. Does the Lexus have 1 hid and one halogen per side or 2 hid per side please ? Cannot wait till weekend to take a trip to see it and maybe come home with it Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  20. This one's a bit tricky to answer. My pug 407 2.2hdi wears 98 load rating tires. The 2.0 hdi wears 94 load rating. The 2.2hdi is heavier and faster than the 2.0 The biggest difference is price. The pirelli p7 in extra load is 98 rating is nearly 50 quid more expensive than the normal 94 tire. If it's not specced in handbook I wouldn't waste the money. I'd expect the standard tire to give a marginally better ride.. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  21. Ok cheers madasahatter. Will message seller. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  22. I think it has hid lights, tho I cannot see the bumper headlight washer bit on top of bumper. Does this pic make it any clearer madasahatter. Will it have the electrically adjustable steering ? Cheers Paul Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  23. You generally find it's the roof bars that are the noisy item, not the box. I'd seriously recommend wisp-bars. They are the quietest on the market and if you change cars, then for less than 30 quid you can change the mounting so they fit the next car. I've had my set 5 years now. They are great. Silent at 80-100mph. I leave them on for months at a time. No impact in fuel economy that I've detected. You can get them at www.roofbox.co.uk. Customer service is second to none. You will require T track mounts for the roofbox for the whisp bars. They are a wide airplane wing type so U bolts don't fit them. The roof boxes I won't recommend are Halfords exodus / Thule copy. Rubbish. Kamei are probably the best and are regular winners in roofbox tests on auto express. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  24. Hi everyone. I've been looking at a few Lexus is250f-sports but not really seen one that ticks either the history or condition box. I've seen an is250se-i on a 10plate with 9 Lexus stamps in the history which I've verified. It hasn't had the plugs changed yet tho. 67,000 miles. Price is £6950 I'd really appreciate some info on spec tho please if anyone can clarify and a reasonable purchase price I should be aiming for. It's a private sale. It has satnav and reversing camera but doesn't say ml down by the cd changer. So is this 13 speaker or 8 or ml system ?. The alloys are 18 inchers. 15 spoke alloys. Are these standard? Does the se-i have the chromatic mirrors and heated wiper bit please. It's grey/ cream leather seats that are ventilated apparently. I've been a big fan of Lexus for ages. I shift cars for a living (car transporter driver) and a Lexus always feel special when you get in one. So it's come time to change cars and the Lexus is the only car on the list. Anything I need to be very aware of fault wise ? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
