  1. I'm in your neck of the woods............. contact Lexus Ireland regarding the warranty extension as I don't think it goes beyond 3 years in Ireland (could be wrong but think as usual we get the ****ty end of the stick!!) Look out for uneven front tyre wear....... the insides of the tyres tend to wear alot faster than the outsides......... Alloy wheele are prone to corrosion............ I have an 03 and they have started to show the initial signs so I'll be tackling Lexus on that front when I cahnge tyres shortly I think there might have been a water pump issue with older models but the lads on here will know more about that than me?????????/ Notchy 1st to 2nd gear change to be expected ...... Buy shares in Statoil now cos you will be in there A LOT!! (coming from a 1L polo this will be the biggest shock to your system!!!........ I put €68 in mine on Sat and it might make it til this weekend!!!!!!! Other than that can't think of anything else??????????/ What colour / model / spec etc is it and where you buying from?
  2. Got the K & N one in the end............. €63 :D Nice gurgle out of it when you floor the throttle too.......... :zee: :zee:
  3. :D :D :D :D :D :D I've had a ***** day and thats just made me laugh so hard................. :D :D :D :D :D Free pallet to bring it home and all !!!! :zee:
  4. That wood dash kit is minging............... I suggest this if you have a wood fetish................. you can even use Ronseal on it !!! :P :P
  5. Nice trainers ! You can see them reflected off the rear bumper when you took the pics :P Cars immaculate also :winky:
  6. Which is best guys? or Tust / Greddy or something else completely? Anybody know roughly how much an OEM one is ?
  7. most seem to stock the grip handle type which is useless for the IS cos of the limited space............ I'll check around at the weekend
  8. Cheers guys .............. all I need to do now is find an online store that will ship to Ireland.......... :mat:
  9. oil filter ratchet.... take the under belly pan off and its easy to get at...lol ← I looked at taking the pan off........... even took out a few studs but decided it would not be of any great advantage............ I'll have another look so
  10. How you supposed to change the filter on an IS200? It must be in the single most awkward place I have ever seen Any tips?
  11. Cheers............... don't really want to turn it off, was just curious what was activating the alarm seeing as the doors / boot / ignition weren't and there are no blatantly obvious signs of interior movement detection............. never thought of the dome light having sensor.............. clever chaps those Lexus boys :D :D :D Damer, now that I think of it there is no second flash, just the sound of the deadlocks going on.............. get into the habit of double pressing :zee:
  12. Aha Colin, car is a 2003........... I though second pressing the key fob just double locks the doors I definitely don't get 5 light flashes......... just 1 extra flash on the double press
  13. Can anyone tell me how the alarm is triggered on the IS apart from opening doors / boot or turning the ignition?? Are there motion sensors in the car somewhere? Reason ask is I ran into the shops the other day leaving kids in the car, out of habit I locked the car from the key fob as I was walking away.......... anyhow 2 mins later the alarm went off............ I know for definite the kids didn't open the doors as I was looking at the car through the shop window.............. so just wondering what triggers the alarm in that situation? Anyone?
  14. Don't have a problem filling my tank Have a serious problem trying to KEEP IT FULL !!
  15. Im disappointed The moment I saw my first IS200 (current shape) I knew I had to have one :) :) :) .......it was unique............. I don't think there was any way you could compare it to other cars on the road and say "That looks like a XXXX" You can with the NEW IS in my mind........... lot of Mazda 6 at the front........... BMW 5 series on side view and Honda on rear end :duh: :duh: It might grow on me but I'm a firm believer in first impressions.............
  16. Looks like I'll be eating a lot of spuds then :P :P :P :P Cos I'm gonna need 10 bags in the boot to get home if it keeps snowing like tit is here at the moment
  17. Just drove my IS in snow for the first time this morning................. absolutely useless I have to say.............. knew it wouldn't be great but didn't think it would be SOOOOOOO bad !!! Lot to be said for 4WD or FWD in this weather
  18. Those wheels have made you loose your marbles Owen!! ← Not that I take any notice of what the feckin signs say anyways! ← GALLA......I'm a bit that way myself but have had a few brushes with the law and think my luck has run out so going to be a good boy now :winky: Matt...... "easy" and "involved" don't quite go together in my mind INVOLVED translates to :tsktsk: I MADE A :tsktsk: OF IT
  19. Thats like saying "everybodys car comes with wheels so why do people change them?" :P :P :P Of course I could just leave it but don't like squinting at the dash looking for the little yellow numbers and let's face it the IS dials aren't the brightest dials around at night For those who've had the speedo cluster out is it easy to make changes?
  20. Ireland has recently changed all speed limits to metric and now i'd like to put a KM/h speedo in :duh: Do the Altezza's come with KM/h only speedo or do they have Mph and KM/h like the Irish / UK spec cars Is it easy to change the speedo dial? Do you have to change the whole cluster or can the dial face alone be changed? If the whole cluster has to be changed is it just a matter of taking out the old and plugging in the new and most importantly is it difficult as I am mechanically challenged
  21. I've only ever seen 2 yellow ones in the flesh :D ............... One was the special edition yellow which is a real head turner :zee: :zee: (but like others have said I think you'd need a bit of grunt with a s/c or otherwise its just a "yellow car" ) Now the second one I have seen on two occasions and both times really wished I had my camera with me :duh: :duh: as I have NEVER seen a more hideous sight in my life :yack: :yack: :yack: ................ the majority of the car is a horrible Hyundai Accent AA type yellow but the bonnet, front wings and part of the front doors have............. wait for it............ BLACK AND RED FLAMES sprayed on ............... and on the boot lid it has the biggest "2 fast 2 furious straight off the back of a Jordan F1 two feet wider than the car and 6" taller than the roof WING bolted on.................. I hope its no one from here cos this is the worst looking piece of :tsktsk: I have ever seen in MY LIFE !!! :yack:
  22. I was quoted €370 for mine, didn't do it yet............... that's about STG£260
  23. With the insides of my fronts wearing the way they have I wont be replacing them with directional tyres............. :duh: :duh: At least then if the camber problem persists I can swap lefts with rights and get more then 17K out of a set Whats the best non directional tyre to get? Are Bridgestone Turanza any good?
