How do you adjust the dipped / main beam alignment? (and no, not the dial on the dash ;)

Have to agree on the dirt trap dash tray Whitie........... :o Another one is after locking the doors when driving, when you go to get out the drivers door only should unlock when you use the handle (Mitsi Carisma can do it why can't Lex?) so that you don't have to go looking for the button and you don't unlock all the other doors (I'm thinking kids in the rear etc when I stop fiddling with my get and get around to having some!!) :) As for the whole carrier bag sewn into the rear seat instead of a 60/40 split ?? What's that all about?

:duh: I realised the other day (don't have the car very long) that if you take the keys from the ignition and then realise you have left a window open you have to switch back on the ignition to close it !!!! Even if you start closing the drivers window automatically and remove the key it won't continue to close........... My 2001 base model Avensis let you close the windows / sunroof with no keys in the ignition once you hadn't opened the drivers door !! I would have expected that Lexus being Toyota derived would certainly have had this on a 2003 IS200. Shame on you Lexus! What's everybody elses' pet hates?

yep....... there should be three......... 2 full keys and a valet parking type key

Whats the easiest way to get the front fogs out? Do I have to strip the arch liners?

I'm no genius so the only thing I can think of is make sure there is nothing blocking the autolights sensor on top of the dash in front of the dial cluster ..... on the right.

Had car washed last night and then had a proper look. When the bumper collapsed with the impact it pushed onto the back box mounting which didn't budge therefore it now looks like someone tried to punch a hole from the inside out Also the polystyrene behind te plastic just seems to be floating there? Its not fixed to anything? Is it supposed to be fixed to the aluminium crash bar? The damage is hardly noticeable but I NOTICE IT and I think unless I get it sorted its going to niggle away at me...........

I don't even have my IS200 a month yet and when out at lunchtime sitting at the lights some knob head in a Bravo ploughed into the back of me !! : Anyhow, I can't for the life of me find any damage with the exception of a paint chip the size of a match head.............. whixh I am very surprised about considering the thump I got........... I at least expected the clips at the rear wheelarches to be busted (considering he needs a bonnet, grille, possibly a headlamp and a respray!!!!) but on inspection can't find a thing. I'll wash the car this evening and give it a good once over to be absolutely sure. What I wan't to know is if there is anything behind the bumper than could be damaged but whcih is not evident? Those of you who have had the rear bumper off will be able to tell me whats behind there at least? I don't wan't to let this fool off scott free if there is something behind there that could possibly be damaged? Hopefully there is nothing wrong but can anyone put my mind at rest?

Can someone tell me where to find instructions for this mod? The link posted above doesn't work and I have looked in "Knowledge" and no joy? :duh: Maybe I should wait until I actually wake up............. :mat:

I was actually gonna post about the brake dust........... I need to clean the wheels every second day else the car just looks scruffy. I'm obviously on the first set of pads (only 5,500 mls) so is this a problem with the stock pads? What should I get that'll solve the dust issue?

First thing I intend to do with my IS is go blue (or maybe ice white) with all bulbs............ Main beam Dipped beam Front fogs Side lights Reverse lights Map lights Dome light Boot light even Glove box light Just reading some of the blurb on some of the bulb replacement sites they suggest that the additional heat / load from 80w in the headlamps may cause wiring problems. Anyone had any trouble like this? Last thing I wanna do is cause a meltdown! Also the 80w's aren't street legal apparently, but has anyone EVER been pulled up over this?

Tom, I'm only here a week aswell, thought I was the only one who spent so much bjuying the car that I can't afford to put petrol in it !!! Don't know what 'll do when I get the ownership papers back and I have to tax the beast............... 539 Euro !!!

I only have my IS 9 days and love it but.................. is it just my driving style or are these cars thirsty !! I tend to get the throttle jammed between my foot and the floor ;) whenever I can cause the car just begs to be driven but I barely got 300 miles from the first 2 tanks of petrol................ that's about 23mpg I reckon? What's everyone else getting? DB

Morning all Just noticed that the glove box light doesn't work. Bulb isn't gone..... Anyone else have this problem? Also where's the most convenient place to get power to light the driver and front passenger footwells?

I am wondering how the "group buys" I have read posts about work? I am new to this site (still on my first tank of petrol in my IS200) so please excuse if this seems a stupid question.
