  1. Great I thought the car's economy would improve after it had been run in properly. I got it with 5,500 on it and have only put 3,000 on it myslef.............. was looking forward to 25+ mpg when I got to 20K miles Its back to plan B so................ the Starlet Engine!
  2. I average 23 mpg but I do about 50 -60% city mileage and when I DO get an open road I tend to drive pretty hard. Best I've done is 31mpg on a 500 mile trip
  3. Mine used to open about half way for the first 5 weeks I had the car........... then I got run into and now it barely pops the catch Just grin :) and bear it
  4. :D I am toying with various ideas........... Does supercharging affect fuel economy much? Anyone got before and after experience? I'm only getting just over 20mpg so for that kind of consumption I want more go!! B) B) Its either that or will a Starlet engine fit? How the hell do I get my pic back on my signature anyone? Its loaded in the gallery but I must be doing something wrong?
  5. How much better fuel usage are we looking at?
  6. Indeedy? I regret not upping the wattage after all the messing :duh:
  7. Wonder when / why they changed them???????/ Whitie, I didn't have the manual when I asked the question on here and you advised me they were the same as the dips, the Powerbulbs site confirmed this so I ordered the lot.............. when I went to change them I was cursing you cos they wouldn't fit !!!!!!! Meanwhile my owners manual arrived by post and confirmed they are H3s so had to send off for replacements. They are now in and working fine :winky:
  8. NO THEY'RE NOT !! Sorry Whitie but I listened to you and ordered 9005's as the Powerbulbs website also said the same............ The front fogs are in fact H3s (mine is a 2003 model) The mains / dips are HB4 and HB3 (or the other way round) :D :D
  9. Posted the other day about how they'd look on a Plat Ice car and was convinced enough to order them.......... just as well I didn't get round to it as this has put me right off ! Think I'll just stick to the stock
  10. Cheers Gavin. Where do you get the Phillips Silvervision indicator bulbs then? Any pics of them in? :D
  11. Well alrighty then.......... I'm convinced (I think?) Java you weren't joking about the "dodgy" were you? Where's best to get them? Have seen them on lextacy.com but can I order from here (Ireland)? Thought I saw a post about them not doing overseas credit card orders? Cheers in advance
  12. I can't seem to access that, it says I don't have permission to use this feature?????????//
  13. Anyone got pics of clear rear fogs on a Platinum IS? I think they look great on darker colour motors :zee: (have seen a few blues & blacks on here) but not sure what they'd be like on mine?
  14. Mine is Oct 2003 and it has a mute.................. :duh: Maybe the earlier ones didn't have it?
  15. I'm Platinum and I went for gold.......... still undecided though, they look more brass than gold........... no stickers
  16. Congrats on the car and welcome. I used a mounting bracket from Dashmount.......... cheap and cheerful but does the job. There is a mute wire on the stereo so shouldn't be any problems wiring either.
  17. I recently changed all front lamps to Phillips BlueVision from here and while there is a difference in light output (these are 4000K colour temp as opposed to 2800K) I think I should have gone for stronger (illegal) wattage........... I used to have 80w dip beams in my Avensis and they were grrrrrreeeeaaaaaattttt :D :D
  18. Had the exact same query myself and here's what I was told.... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...topic=14545&hl= Haven't had a chance to do any adjustment yet.......... The right beam should be lower than the left (at least it always has been on any car I've ever owned) but I know what you mean............ when on my own in the car with headlight leveller up full the right dipped beam doesn't give you much range............ I intwend to wind mine up a bit and if its a problem when I have rear passengers then that's what the leveller is for in my opinion !!!!!!!
  19. I know EXACTLY how you feel.......... http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...topic=14239&hl= I was run into a few weeks ago........... couldn't find any significant damage externally........... now you have me wondering if I have missed something............ I made the gut pay €270 for a replacement bumper only! (I know I'm soft but the damage externally is so small it's not worth getting repaired) One thing I have noticed since is that when you open the boot off the key fob it doesn't spring up? It literally just pops and stays almost in the same position ......... however if you close it and repeat it always pops up and open on the 2nd go????? Get someone to check it out
  20. Mute is the yellow wire at the top left as you look at the back of the radio unit as far as I recall............
  21. ....... I stand corrected, must have been my imagination :shutit:
  22. All I know is 6000K will generate a LOT of heat !!! I changed my stock bulbs (about 2800K methinks ) for Phillips Bluevision the other day and at 4000K there is a noticeable difference in heat when you place your hands on the headlamps I'm not sure but 6000K seems a lot to be road legal?
