  1. I have some of those WARN markers but never knew what for.......... do the mods ever contact you with a warning cos I've never been contacted? What do you get em for?
  2. I have the Bluevisions in dip, main and front fogs............. marginally better light IMO but I have to say I was a little disappointed with the results considering the cost of them............. one of the front fogs has gone (9 months?) so I am back to 1 stock and 1 Blusvision, you can tell the difference but its marginal
  3. Yep, as I said I got a quote for the s/c IS200 no problem.......... mine worked out at €1,170 or thereabouts, problem is that when you try to take out the policy and they realise the s/c IS200 is not available in Ireland............ they request that your aftermarket s/c is approved by Lexus !!! Now I haven't contacted Lexus but I very very very much doubt they will approve any modification to their car even if its a TTE compressor Try these for insurance........... I dont know anything about them so you're on your own http://www.dolmen-insurance.ie/ Top quote 1890 788 787 Here's some info from a previous post of mine which includes the web address for Toyota Team Ireland............... as I said, no replies to my emails :duh: Keep me informed
  4. Leave it with me......... €1200 isnt too bad actually considering your 5 yrs younger than me and you've 50+ more horses
  5. Sean, I just tried my broker and thats the response they got back from Allianz who I am currently with , there are companies that specialise in modified cars but I didn't try any of those yet............. have a snoop around. How much is the premium on the Altezza as it stands? I'm 32 with full NCB and my premium is €830.............in a 153hp IS200
  6. Sean, I can't get insured in a s/c IS200 in Ireland at the moment.............. they will quote me however they want written confirmation from Lexus that the s/c is fitted in accordance with their requirements................. there is no way Lexus Ireland will do that............. I sent several emails to Toyota Team Ireland but got no reply so I'm snookered. As far as insurance hike is concerned I think my premium would have gone up by 42% if I could get the charger fitted to their approval. S/c Altezza is a different kettle of fish though............... how much you paying now? Is that your motor in the pic? Niiiiiiicccccceeee DB
  7. I'll be doing them myself as the song says "with a little help from my friends" ;) Have to change oil and filter this evening aswell........
  8. I have just about covered 26k on the original brake pads and they need replacing........ well certainly the fronts do (havent looked at rears as yet) :duh: That doesn't seem to be great pad life to me................. is this normal or am I just eating through them cos I drive the wheels off my car I have ordered the Mintex replacements............. should I expect better longevity from these or similar lifespan but with better stopping power? I'm on stock discs BTW :o
  9. Gets my thumbs up aswell................. particularly those side skirts!!
  10. From moment light comes on you are still safe for at least 50 more miles..... :winky: I've driven to and from work and back in the next day which is approx 60 miles............. mind you that was cutting it fine , each time I turned to the right for the last few miles the car spluttered (fuel line in tank must exit on right )............. when I filled up I put 68.9 litres in My light comes on when there is approx 11 litres left whcih based on 23mpg average gets you 55 miles or so
  11. Diapason, I got mine checked out at Dave McCann tyres when I was getting new rubber all round a few weeks ago.................. Dave McCann Tyres & 3D Alignment Centre davemccann@oceanfree.net Contact: Dave McCann/ Jim Scully Unit 12 Coolmine Bus. Park, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15. 087 - 2500365 or 01 - 8202221 I had badly worn insides on front tyres and car was twitchy as hell steering wise. He did a geometry check and found the toe was out on the fronts hence the unevern wear, he mdae adjustments on all four corners and car seems alot better now, hopefully new tyres wont wear unevenly either.............. he charged me €60 but that was because I spent €720 on tyres, probably cost you more if you just get the geom............. Tony at WIM had sent me a set up on email but as my car is completely standard wheel and suspension wise Dave used the machine settings.............. didn't get a printout but I am supposed to drop back in for a recheck (cos he did the geometry / tracking etc with the old tyres on and he just wants to be sure nothing is put out by the new rubber).......... I'll get the print out then. Dont know exactly what equipment he has but it looked impressive, on screen wheel by wheel guages showing where the adjustments were needed............. "Visualiner" is the only name I can recall seeing ....... doe that mean anything to anyone? Hope this helps. DB
  12. Bit awkward trying to parallel park with those front wings................... but sure what am I thinking? No reverse anyhow!
  13. I'd only ever put Nangkangs on again if I was selling the car and threw in a set of tyres as a sweetener Might look ok but in reality you ALWAYS get what you pay for Spend the extra few quid per corner, it will save you in the long run believe me...........
  14. How do you find the rav 4 more practical for a family than the lex, other than in the mpg area? Exactly my thoughts?
  15. Cheers Zee........... Was beginning to think the whole lot was WAYYYY beyond my budget..... Don't fancy the new back box cos I don't fancy big noise, just want the damn thing to go where I puts me foot down............. too many Intergas and Civic leaving me for dead
  16. Grim, Dropped him a line through their site but he never got back to me What sort of dosh are we looking at for an s/c fitted in Ireland? Do I need the following done............. Remove precats/ new manifold? Upgrade clutch / flywheel? Remap? Piggyback ECU? Intercooler? Exhaust? Backbox? DB
