  1. I am still surprised with such a low mileage, I work with bearings quite a bit as a Mechanical Technician & normally find if they fail prematurely it is often either lack of grease of faulty bearing.
  2. Yes, definitely a shot bearing, very surprised with only 22,000 miles. I can only assume it was a faulty bearing to start with, send it to SKF for analysis.😊
  3. I can't really speak for Lexus, but my V40 cost £30k new with extras, I paid £18k when it was 5 months old/5,000 miles, I kept it for 5 years & Lexus gave me £7.5k with32,000miles on it in immaculate condition. That would be quite a loss if you bought it new. I hope my IS300h holds its value a little bit better, although I bought it pre-reg with 6 miles on the clock with quite a discount from new so happy with that, I have decided if the price drops too much I will just keep hold of it as I am hoping it will live up to its reputation as being one of the most reliable cars on the road.😃 Good luck with whatever you decide, but I would urge you to try another dealer & believe me there will be movement on the price even with cash, I know because I managed it.
  4. Thats a shame, perhaps you need to find another dealer with a better attitude? I really is a great car, maybe ask to have one for a whole day?
  5. It looks very nice, great colour. I have only put my foot down a few times, but it seems to go just fine when I want it too.
  6. Now I have come from driving manuals for the last 40 years & slipped into the CVT almost immediately, I really like the way it drives, it just seems so smooth which I find really relaxing.
  7. Glad you like it, I bough mine a couple of months ago & love it. I find the car so easy to drive & I really like the CVT gearbox, coming from a manual I was surprised. Don't forget some pictures.👍
  8. I must say I looked around before I bought my IS a couple of months ago & the only car that really attracted me was the S60, but most of what I was looking at had a list price of over 40k, so higher road tax. My last 2 cars were Volvo & I found them very good, but the Lexus is more comfortable & just seems a little bit better built.
  9. I tried mine in sports mode today & I still have the MPG display?
  10. It looks very nice, the DAB does take a little time to figure out, but I am sure it won't take long. Enjoy your new ride.👍
  11. I believe there were some changes to the Facelift model in 2017 that I was reading about, here are a couple of bits I found. "Not all is lost, however, as Lexus’s efforts to tighten up the IS’s handling has resulted in noticeable gains. Where the old car’s steering felt rather numb off centre, the revised system feels more direct, allowing you to place the front-end accurately on the road." "Lexus says the new IS range benefits from stronger suspension components (nominally, the lower arm assembly and number one bush) plus revised coil rates, altered shock absorber components and revised damper rates, adding up to improved handling and comfort. " I find my IS300h on 17" wheels is very quite & handles pot holes very well, certainly better than my previous Volvo V40.
  12. Congratulations, I am sure you will be absolutely delighted with it, shame you couldn't get a discount, but as long as you are happy that is all that matters, enjoy.
  13. Yes Roy, it has changed my driving style.😃 I don't seem to rush around everywhere now I just sit back & relax, it helps having the speed limit alert set to curb my speeding, I also anticipate traffic lights & junctions a lot more now.👍 Coming from a manual gearbox I really like the eCTV, it just seems so seamless & my wife loves the fact it is so quiet in the car compared to our last 2 diesels. Really pleased I made the move to Lexus.
  14. I managed to save 1K on my pre reg IS300 just by negotiating on the phone, good luck.
  15. I bought my IS300h 2 months ago without actually seeing it or test driving one. I did have a 14 day return option on it if I didn't like it as it was 140 miles away. I have been driving Volvo's for the last 9 years & my last one was a D4 with almost 200bhp & 0-60 in 7.5 secs, I can honestly say the Lexus is almost as quick & handles as well, but what I will say is how refined, quiet & comfortable the Lexus is. It really is a pleasure to drive it every day the seats are so soft & you sink into them, whereas the Volvo you seemed to sit on top of them. I don't think you will be disappointed.
  16. Well done, look forward to the pics.👍
  17. Hi, I don't know if this is relevant or not, but when I was looking in Feb for pre reg IS 300h the Sport Pack came with Smart Keyless Entry, Auto Wipers, Reversing Camera, 18" Black Alloys, Sport Exterior Styling & Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror. As I said this was the difference over a standard model for 2020/21 models, I went for the Comfort Pack in the end. I am afraid I can't help on the warranty question, but good luck with your search I certainly love mine & enjoy driving it every day.
  18. You make a good point there. Over the last year, I know 7 people who have bought new/nearly new cars myself included, 2 saloons Lexus & Audi, 1 electric iPace & 4 SUV's 1 Merc GLA, 1 Volvo XC40, 1 VW T-roc & Ford Kuga. Only one of them has a small child, the rest have grown up children, so there is definitely a trend in the UK.
  19. I certainly will John, all I can say at the moment is Lexus Maidstone were very good with my Sat Nav update & even dropped the car back off to me at work to save me driving back up to them.
  20. As a has already been mentioned the UX is a different type of car to the IS, but to me the IS feels so much classier & a lot better place to be it. I do find the driving position a lot lower than my previous Volvo V40, but I quite like this as you feel more in the car.
  21. I went to Lexus Derby because they were offering the best price for a Pre registered IS 300h with del mileage, including Comfort & Protection Pack. They also offered me a great PX for my 2015 Volvo V40 D4. I did speak to my local Dealer Lexus Maidstone, but the best they could offer me was a base model in Masa red ( I wanted a different colour this time as the Volvo was red). It was also £2k more!! Manganese Lustre is quite a rare colour for the IS apparently, it is described as Bronze on the Reg documents, but it sometimes looks grey depending on the sunlight. I have taken the service plan out with Motorline Lexus which means I can use Maidstone, Canterbury or T/Wells.
