  1. I have just gone over it with some SRP & there is no colour on the sponge pad, I have also put some Ultimate Wax on it, but it still looks as bad.
  2. Well I tried some Meguires Ultimate Compound tonight & if anything I think it has made it worse!!! I am now concerned I may have taken the Clear Coat off on the stain, I done a 6" x 6" area like it said & went over it about 5 times wiping it off each time. How much would it take to rub the Clear Coat off?
  3. They certainly do on mine, its a standard model with comfort pack & protection pack, 70 plate.
  4. S60 is a very nice car, I considered one before I bought my Is300h. I have had Volvos for the last 9 years & they have been trouble free really other than a couple of recalls, if you can find a good dealer for service etc it makes all the difference. The menu system can be a bit quirky, but like everything it becomes second nature after a while, a bit like the Is menu.😊 Enjoy the car.👍
  5. Thanks, what about scratch X 2.0?
  6. I had the car outside today & it is barely noticeable from any angle, it just seems to be in the garage under the lights. I may leave it & see if it self heals in our nice hot summer.😊 On the off chance, has anyone used Meguiars Ultimate Compound for removing this type of stain or is it too coarse?
  7. Well, thanks for all the advice guys, I have just been in the garage for 10 mins with a hairdryer, I am not sure it has really made much difference, but the roof was bloody hot. Perhaps my next step is to speak to a body shop & see what they suggest? Maybe a polish with a D/A?
  8. I am not sure I am confident to use a hairdryer on it in case I damage the paintwork. How hot can I let it get before I damage the paintwork?
  9. I am not sure I am confident to use a hairdryer on it in case I damage the paintwork.
  10. Hi guys, just after a bit of advice. I was down at the coast today & came back to the car this afternoon a there was a big lump of dried bird poop on the roof, I removed it with a micro fibre & water that I carry in the car. When I put the car away this evening in the garage I could still see the blemish under the flourecent lights so I put some Autoglym resin polish on it, it seems to have smoothed it off, but I can still see the blemish.😬 Does anyone have any advice about removing it other that having a clear coat respray?
  11. Today I travelled from home to Herne Bay to have a walk along the costal path to Whitstable & back. I managed 54mpg down there via M/way & A roads which I thought was pretty good for a 36 mile journey. On the way back I decided to go home the country roads, 41 miles, I couldn't believe my eyes when I got home 72mpg!!!! I think that is pretty amazing for such a big car.
  12. Fantastic looking IS, great colour, enjoy. I have found Doff weed killer works wonders on block paved drives, kills everything, I use it in a sprayer once or twice a year.
  13. I have come from a Volvo C30 Diesel & a V40 Diesel, the C30 was disappointing at around early 40's mpg on average, the V40 was better at late 40's mpg on average. I will say though both were the higher powered models so consumption would not be great. In my IS300h I am averaging similar to the V40 at around late 40's MPG, but I do not tear around everywhere & make the most of electric as much as possible. What I will say is the Lexus is the most comfortable & quite car I have owned.
  14. I had this problem when I first purchased my IS300h back in Feb, I have a Mac & it wouldn't recognise anything on it. I ended up using my Son's Window PC & formatting in Fat32, that seemed to to the trick.
  15. As the title says still loving driving this everyday, just got home & had time to wash & polish it. The Manganese Lustre colours seems to stay clean for ages.
  16. My 45mph wasn't in EV mode it was in ECO mode, I only really use EV mode to get it in & out of the garage to wash it.👍
  17. I can get the car up to about 45mph in electric mode before the engine kicks in, the furthest I have managed on electric only was about a mile, but quite a bit of that was downhill.😊 I am really impressed with my IS 300h since picking it up in February.
  18. I thought the 0-62 of the IS300h was 8.1 secs, plenty quick enough for most I would have thought?
  19. I had mine updated when I bought it as it was out of date, it was done free as the car was pre reg. It is not the premium Sat Nav & the dealer told me it is a main dealer update system only. I guess yours is probably the same.
  20. I think the boot is quite sizeable at 450 litres, compared to my previous Volvo V40 at 325 litres & would say it is plenty big enough for a folding pram. I have a space saver spare wheel in mine & there is still quite a lot of room left. I think its is only about 20-30 litres less than a C class or 3 series etc. Good luck whatever you decide.
  21. That sounds like a good idea, hopefully he will say he can buff it out, good luck.
  22. I think a lot depends on if it has gone through the clear-coat, can you feel it much with your nail? If you can it may be best to seek professional help, I am sure the experts on here will guide you better.
  23. Ah I didn't know that, my IS300h is an Oct 20 model & you set the speed limit alert on the small screen in front of the steering wheel along with lane assist etc.
  24. I don’t know if you have the speed sign recognition on this model, but my IS300h bleeps & the sign turns red when I go 5mph over the limit. I believe it can be set 1mph, 3mph or 5mph over the limit.
