  1. Looks like you have a great concoction there, but as I am lucky enough to have a garage & only use de-icer now & again I think I will stick with the Halfords stuff.😀 I do admire your efforts though, very enterprising.👍
  2. I would push it as far as you can if its a known fault.👍 The only thing going against you is this non Lexus service, what does it say in the used car warranty terms?
  3. Is the car still under Lexus original 3 year warranty or is it a used car warranty? If it is the original 3 year warranty then I can see no reason why it wouldn't be covered, the service has been carried out to Lexus specs with original Lexus parts I take it?
  4. Interesting video, he does make a lot of sense, especially about buying a Lexus & leasing German Marque.
  5. Hello & welcome to the forum, don't forget some pics when you get it.👍
  6. I bought a pattern one (already painted) on ebay for my wife's VW Polo, looks & fits exactly the same
  7. I was offered a 10% discount if I took it out when I bought the car, but because the dealership was a long way from me I declined. My local dealership matched the price I was offered at the selling dealership which I was happy with.
  8. I was advised by the selling dealer that a service plan is the cheapest way to go. At no point was a free first service mentioned.

    IS to ES

But an ES Takumi is £49,455, so that nearly ££4,500 more than the Jag you are quoting?🤔
  10. Just a quick question that somebody may be able to answer. I put my heated rear window on this morning as it had misted up a bit & I noticed the top 3 or 4 bars were not clearing, this is around the area where the Ariel is located. Is this normal or should the whole window defrost?
  11. I thought it was unusual as Volvo used to give me one FOC, I did mention this & was told to remind them next time & they will let me have it FOC.
  12. I was given a free loan car for my Sat Nav update an NX model, but when I had my first service I was charged £12 for insurance & was given a UX that time.
  13. Shame you are not in Kent, 10 min job & as good as new. Any decent exhaust/garage should be able to repair it.
  14. Welcome to the Forum. Great looking car, looks stunning in white. Hopefully you will have a better experience this time.
  15. I have had a couple of UX's as courtesy cars & they are quite nice cars, but after my IS300h they just don't seem as nice inside or as comfortable to drive. If I didn't own the IS, I think I would probably have taken to it more.
  16. This is the problem, I think most of us are happy to pay for a service if it is done to the manufacturers specifications & not skimped, after all they charge enough for it!!!! I think the problem is that not many people check things after a service & are just happy if they are treated well when they take it in & it comes back washed & hoovered, which incidentally I told them not to do.
  17. Ah ok, great. I know with my previous 2 Volvos the brake fluid change was chargeable. 👍
  18. Looking at that table, the Full 20 service shows replace brake fluid & remote battery, do Lexus charge extra for this? The only thing I can see with an extra charge is the 4 wheel alignment.
  19. Here is the link, but I think you have to pay for the service information. https://www.lexus-tech.eu
  20. He did say he is going to bring it up in the morning meeting tomorrow & make other people aware so that it is avoided in the future, maybe just lip service, who knows?
  21. I have just received an email from the service manager apologising for the error, he said if the filter was not changed I should have received a partial refund & this clearly did not happen. As I said the filter has been changed now, so I am prepared to accept this as a genuine mistake & hope nothing like this happens again.😀
  22. Yes I agree with the trust issue now, that is why I have emailed the service manager. As I said I have a 3 year service agreement with them & want to feel confident going forward. It could have been a genuine mistake, but I really don't want any more mistakes genuine or not. There is another dealer from the same group another 10 miles further away, I could use them in the future if the manager doesn't respond.
  23. Here is the schedule from my service book, the only one that isn't replaced yearly is the CT200.
  24. https://drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/service/maintenance-schedules I am at work at the moment, so don't have access to service schedule, but found this on the Lexus site. I certainly will not be going to the Police, they have done nothing wrong now officially as they have replaced it.🤔
  25. Hi Philip, you are correct I had just thought it was a genuine mistake, but my friend has put doubt in my mind as he told me it is a common scam as not many people would even know. When he took it out it was surprisingly dirty with bits of leaves etc in it. I have emailed the manager expressing my concerns this morning & I am waiting for a response. I really want to know why the service tech didn't contact the parts dep't & tell them the filter was missing, after all he services Lexus cars every day.
