  1. It's introduced me to Lexus Hanley, where a service cost £100 less than at Lexus Cardiff! It's pointed me in the direction of a rather flash numberplate (repeat after me, investment, not squandered... investment, not squandered...) It's got me sweating like a pig after a gobful of chicken phall in Cheltenham! It's dragged me to Japfest and JAE for the first time, a chance to place a few more faces to usernames (and then forget them like I usually do). The great thing at the meetings is that people come from all different backgrounds, some are loaded, some are not, but nobody cares about that anyway!
  2. Compare the whole unit's part number with this one on eBay. Another option might be this one, if not plug-compatible you may still be able to swap the laser mechs between them, if not you can just sell the whole system on again.
  3. I've seen crumbling plastic before, but not in a car. Was the front face of an uninterruptible power supply that a plug-in air freshener had tipped onto. I believe the process is known as catalytic embrittlement. Glycol-based brake fluid can do this, I don't know about engine oil though.
  4. RHD LX470s are available in the land down under for $123,000 (that's about £49,400) - there's a link to the Oz Lexus site here! For comparison, the SC430 (the only one on the site that's easily compared to the UK ones as all the other ones have different spec levels) is $161,600 (just under £65,000) over there, £54,778 over here - and we thought we were getting ripped off! :o (further comparison, the SC in the USA is $66,170 or £33,912, the LX470 with all the toys will set you back $75,513 or $38,700).
  5. Bit late for me to recommend a Zyxel P2602HWL, then!
  6. That's 1.62 pounds per litre... just how the government would like it :tsktsk:
  7. LOL! Was in Towyn in September, Rhyl (3 miles away) can best be described as a $#!+hole, desperately in need of investment.
  8. Visit www.pepipoo.com BEFORE sending off any forms.
  9. ...and let your browser do it's own thing. The Link
  10. As long as they're not like the 4 bolts on Maneesh's exhaust pipes, that is!
  11. If it's a passive crossover (that works at speaker level) I'd say from the speaker output on the head unit. If it's an active crossover (RCA in/out, works at line level, feeds amps) I'd ground it to the chassis and take +ve from a relay that's operated by the remote switching wire from the head unit.
  12. Yep, the Land Cruiser Amazon is a very nice beast. Spotted one in Brecon a few weeks back. Don't know what the difference in spec. is, this one still had the "tilt & telescope" steering wheel that we're all used to :P
  13. Interesting. Would be nice if the motorways were dynamically allocated more appropriate speeds though, seeing as they're the safest roads in the UK even though the vast majority of people exceed the 70mph limit on them. Foot to the floor all the way, with the EVSC setting the limit, get to a long straight stretch and wahey!!
  14. Tanks can be filled to 80% capacity. I've got a 75 litre tank in my spare wheel well, it takes about 60 litres (give or take a litre or two, it depends on the pump).
  15. But of course, if someone does SVA a Mk.2 V300 they'll be quids in as they can then rent the model report for a couple of hundred to other budding importers.
  16. Get in touch with Lexus Hanley, they generally wipe the floor with other dealers when it comes to servicing. The price matrix can be found here, your 50K service will cost about ninety quid. Oh, and you'd have saved £200 if you'd used them last time! Well worth the drive (up to 70 miles further, depending on where you are).
  17. Probably grumbling that the mixture is too weak or too rich. Mine used to grumble about it being too weak occasionally, so hooked up to the Romano ECU and upped the fuel trims across the range by 20%. Haven't seen the engine light since.
  18. No. Are you hearing me Maneesh, NO!!!
  19. Makes sense. Over here we've got three hybrids in the family:- Prius, GS450h, RX400h Looking at the Japanese website, they've got six so far:- Alphard, Estima, GS450h, Harrier (RX400h), Kluger, Prius Plus the LS600h and LS600hL coming soon, of course!
  20. Evolution - ev·o·lu·tion (ĕv'ə-lū'shən, ē'və-) pronunciation n. A gradual process in which a glorified Mitsubishi Lancer changes into a different and usually smaller form in Aido's rear view mirror.
  21. A belated happy birthday, Mike!
