  1. There are instructions elsewhere on this forum for disabling the bulb failure warning light, may be better than using a resistor.
  2. I doubt Bazza's got any complaints in that department, unless he's just being greedy! Only just spotted this thread. Look after her Bazza, hope she gets well soon. Only met her properly at JAE last year, really nice and didn't seem to mind me shoehorning myself into her car and playing with the short-shifter (although some were more concerned, eh Baz? ). Would never have guessed she had back trouble, but then again nobody goes to JAE to play "spot the ailment" so if I'd paid attention perhaps I'd have noticed. Down in the valleys you'll get people skiving off and claiming disability for alleged "back trouble". What does Janey do when she's got the real thing? Go drifting! Attagirl Janey, come back soon!
  3. Will be interesting to see how your setup performs. If possible, can you ask the guy to give you a copy of the ECU's config (.rm8) file once he's finished? I've got the Romano system as well and it would be interesting (for me, at least) to compare the final setup with mine. When testing out the car, do a bit of aggressive driving (in other words, find a dual carriageway and plant your foot) to see if it stays on gas or switches to petrol at high load/rpm. Good price by the way, mine was £1700. 75 litre Stako toroidal tank (60 litre usable) fits in the wheel well, raises the carpet by about a centimetre. I cut the centre hole out of the plastic tray that sits on the spare wheel and it now sits nicely around the tank and the carpet's level again.

    Whats Vertex

...and more surprised still when they realise how fast it is! :D
  5. I believe you have to be careful if your cameras are recording public spaces. Just talking to a mate of mine (who installs CCTV, amongst other things), the limitations refer to pointing cameras into private property. All private property is masked out from motion detection on my setup. Cops certainly didn't complain when I gave them footage of this guy in action, or when I caught someone pinching big plant pots and ornaments from next door's garden!
  6. I'd repay him, definitely. Treat others the way you'd want/expect them to treat you.
  7. My CCTV setup currently consists of:- 2 x day/night cameras with IR offering 15m range in total darkness 1 x day/night cameras with IR offering 10m range in total darkness (LED array has failed though, I need to fix it again) 1 x Pelco Spectra III pan/tilt/zoom colour dome camera 1 x 8-channel 200fps CCTV capture card (from eBay) 1 x Dell Dimension 5100 1 x Hitachi 400GB SATA HDD, gives around 2 months' recording time in motion-detect mode before looping round Typical night view (just connected over the web from 55 miles away to grab this pic, panning the dome around to the gate just for something to look at):- Images are actually captured at a higher resolution than this (720x576 I think). Web access is slow, hence the time differences between cameras. Installing the proper software at this end would speed it up and give access to recorded footage. As you can see, the garage LED array has failed. There's a floodlight just below the camera though, so there's no escape! Day/night cameras such as SuperHADs can be a bit peculiar mind. Black fabric can appear pale blue indoors (my leather jacket looks fantastic inside out!), and the IR illumination appears like a "monochrome torch", with illuminated items appearing in black & white against the normally lit, colour background. The monochrome trees in the above picture are an example.
  8. Okay, I'm all set... Good pics of the tail lights by the way. I made the mistake of taking pics at night, and it's impossible to do them justice!
  9. I've been getting the odd bulb failure light when the car's stone cold. Stopping and restarting after a few minutes usually clears it. Could be the LED lights (started not long after I fitted them), could be the driver's side HID which I've just noticed seems to flicker when cold (regular pulses like it's trying to restrike itself). Not had a chance to trace the problem yet, and I don't want to mess with a re-striking HID - 22kV is gonna hurt!
  10. Handles like a dream but looks like a diesel!
  11. Just asking for an answer like this... Some people prefer "Cherry" due to its higher carnauba content, but I've not tried it myself.
  12. That's not a bad price for them, I paid more than that buying them from the states! See here for the original topic.
  13. This would be a better one, as it's USB instead of Firewire, an easier cable to power in an in-car scenario (USB power is 5 volts, Firewire power is 30 volts).
  14. LOL@Scarface! ...and we wonder why Bazza never brings her to the meets... Amongst other things I got a War Of The Worlds 7CD/DVD boxed set (the proper Jeff Wayne one, not that American crap). Nice!
  15. Slight overkill, why not use one of these? Available in 1m, 2m, 3m, 5m or 10m lengths. Just tape up whichever plug is unused (my bet's on the yellow one) so it doesn't cause any mischief. Alternatively, if you short the pin and sleeve of the unused plug together, it'll increase the chance of the ground connection finding a good spot on the 3.5mm plug (you'll short the sleeve and the last ring together so the plug "appears" more like a stereo jack).
  16. 2nd year for me too, nothing (yet).
  17. 6 months for forging a certificate? That's a bit steep! Oh no, misread it, sorry! ;)
  18. eBay link They're in the States, contact them for postage costs.
  19. Good. The boss of AGWW should know the ins and outs of Toyota/Lexus engines as he's got a 4.7 litre LandCruiser Amazon that things get tried out on.
  20. Yes it's America, but doesn't have to be. The Light-O-Rama dimming packs used to control the show are capable of running on 240 volts. Hmmmm... tempting... btw, I thought a Carzy Chrimbo Decor was what you got after fifteen pints of Guinness on Xmas Eve? :P
  21. Give Autogas Worldwide a ring on 0870 746 1262. They're the official importers for Romano LPG systems and know what they're talking about.
  22. What, Lexus Hanley do a service for fifteen quid??!! I totalled the parts+servicing to be £97.51, same job at Hanley cost me just over £68.
  23. Service would've been about thirty quid cheaper at Lexus Hanley, but would've cost you double that in fuel. Still, £316 at Lexus Edinburgh, so looks like a bargain.
