  1. Was your order placed with a UK dealer (I notice your location is 'other/Non UK')? If so, as James says, it doesn't make sense that February orders for the 450h are being fulfilled in the next couple of months and your order, just a month later, is estimated for 2023.
  2. That's scary! No wonder garages won't repair run-flats.
  3. Mine didn't go into build until 6th June, a couple of weeks after yours. Keep your fingers crossed, it could well be on an earlier boat. I reckon/hope the Viking Adventure will dock at Portbury around the 6th August.
  4. Do you have any more clues? Mine is on the Viking Adventure, which set sail on 27th June and is passing Singapore as I type this.
  5. The Updated 2022 Lexus NX Part 2 - Deep Dive Tutorial at 56:40 minutes might give a clue. I think you would need to have linked and subscribed to services such as Apple music or Amazon music before you would see options that weren't greyed out. I don't 'do' this sort of thing but hopefully you will get some clues from the YouTube video.
  6. Thank you everyone. Watched a few YouTube videos, very helpful and some good tips on what not to do amongst the good ideas. They make it look a pretty simple job even though I don't like the idea of removing panels for fear of introducing squeaks and rattles. Don's photos on the 'Show and Tell' thread are useful too, although the shot with half his car spread over his grass was a little disconcerting! I'll let you know how I get on.
  7. I think you are reading it correctly. I noticed the UX model page had an 'Importance Notice' prominently displayed and saying the same thing a couple of weeks ago. Guess it's understandable in the current supply situation.
  8. Impressive stats Alan. I reckon that means you are getting north of 250mpg! I will be very happy if I get anywhere near that - my right foot can be a little heavy at times.
  9. Does anyone have any experience, info, tips, pictures of a diy dash cam fit specific to the NX? I bought the Nextbase 622GW front and rear cameras. There appear to be 3 fuse box locations in the NX according to the manual; maybe it will be clearer when I get the car and it will be more obvious where I can take the power from but at the moment, I'm a bit confused.
  10. Thanks Ivan, interesting that you can see it. I have tried 3 computers, Apple MacBook, Samsung tablet, and Chromebook and none of them show me a 450 option, just a 350 2wd and 350 awd option.
  11. I can't see the 450h+ listed on the website at all! Is Lexus in the middle of a web site update? Can anybody else see the PHEV listed? Very odd.
  12. Great stats Ken. Thank you. Gives me something to aim for when I eventually pick up my car. Suspect I won't get near this initially as one of my early drives will be a long run around the country to visit family.
  13. Are you following the NX 2022 Delivery date thread? There are a few posts on there about folk expecting their cars soon; including a couple from me as my dealer confirmed this morning the vessel that my car is currently on.
  14. My dealer told me to expect two weeks but for others it has clearly taken longer. Some cars (but I don't think all of them?) have to go via Derby where they fit some of the non-factory fitted options (like a tow bar for example). Other accessories, like cross roof bars can easily be fitted by the dealer. I was told to then expect 3-7 days for the dealer to do what they need to do before I can collect my car. If your car arrives at Portbury on the 22nd and follows a similar pattern to that which I have been advised, sadly, I think it unlikely you'll get your car in time for your French trip but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
  15. I read somewhere, and it seems to be borne out by my own experience, is that Lexus wait until the vehicle is on a ship before issuing the 'build complete' message. If correct, cars may be complete and off the production line, before then hanging around for several days before we hear about it. Since, you received a 'build complete' message on 4th June and the normal sailing time is 38-40 days, I think you have good grounds for expecting your car will arrive at Portbury on the 8th or 11th. Let's hope so.
  16. I have just been notified that my car is on the same ship 🙂 I'd like to apply to join the Viking Adventure Club please. My NX 450h+ Premium was ordered by the dealer on 6 Feb, I was notified that it went into build on the 6 Jun and notified that build was complete on 28 Jun - at which point it must have already been on the boat, just one of 6,700!
  17. In 2017 a Ferrari driver was fined £90 for parking across 2 bays even though he had paid for two tickets. Your guy was fair, good on him, but not everyone is like that sadly. Article at: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/ferrari-driver-furious-parking-car-two-spaces-bays-church-road-antrim-northern-ireland-kevin-mcwhinney-a8037651.html
  18. The reference does indeed mention the 2.5bar for Andrew's vehicle but doesn't address the question of a fully loaded vehicle versus a 'normal' load. Every car I have ever owned has recommended a higher pressure for full load/high speed running. As Andrew has found, Lexus do not appear to differentiate. I wonder if it has anything to do with run-flat tyres being fitted, which have thicker, stronger side walls that are, perhaps, less affected by different loads.
  19. It's also mentioned in Deep Dive 1. A very exhaustive run through with so many little snippets like that, it is easy to miss. I only know because I saw it a couple of nights ago on my second run through 😉
  20. Interesting figures Ken. Can you add any more detail to work out if the extra noise is worth the 6 miles of charge for the increased fuel consumption? If not, what's your subjective feeling?
  21. I think reliability of the software will be a significant issue in people's judgement of what constitutes a quality vehicle. Overall, in my opinion, car manufacturers aren't doing well at the moment, although they are getting better. Judging by comments on the NX forum, Lexus isn't doing great when it comes to their Lexus Link App either. Many features are simply not working reliably or as advertised. There are so many issues that my perception of Lexus as a reliable brand has taken a real knock. Fortunately the NX is capable of receiving over the air (OTA) but the software should work 'out-of-the-box' as well as the engine and mechanicals do. The Microsoft model of buggy software that requires frequent updates, is prone to virus and is abandoned after a few years haunts me when it comes my car.
  22. I reserve judgement because I have yet to try the satnav on my, as yet, undelivered Lexus NX but I have always been very happy with Waze. An excellent system that gets better and better as more users adopt it.
  23. Another thought (and I'm no expert). Generally speaking, a lower profile tyre is noisier than one with a higher profile. The manufacturer, 'rubber' compound and tyre construction all make a difference but in a like-for-like comparison, more noise will be transmitted to the cabin with a low profile tyre. So my thought for those who don't want the extra noise but who like the benefits of run-flats is, could you change to a tyre with a different profile? The NX F-Sport comes with 20" 235/50 tyres whereas the basic NX comes with 18" 235/60 tyres. Despite the 2" difference in wheel diameter, both have a very similar circumference, just 13mm (half inch) difference, which equates to a difference of about 3 wheel revolutions over a mile (sorry for mixing my units up!). At some point it is necessary to change the gearing when different wheels and tyres are fitted to remain legal because the speedometer reading would become out of its design limits. In the old days, the feed for the speedo came from a cable taken off the gearbox so it was quite easy to change the gear to ensure the speedo read correctly. Digital speedometers will be operated differently but the same principle applies. Hence 40 years ago, it was not common to improve a car's handling by fitting wider, lower profile tyres that had a sharper turn-in. Some of my friends at the time changed the gearing others did not (naughty!) However, then, as now, manufacturers offered different models with different wheel tyre combinations but, in many cases, the options had/have similar tyre circumferences so that the manufacturer didn't/doesn't need to change the gearing for every model. The bit I don't know is whether the 2 different options available on the NX are similar enough to ensure that the speedo doesn't get you into trouble. My gut feeling is that it wouldn't because the normal differences in operating pressures and temperatures would create a similar small difference in circumference. Is this an option worth considering? You would need new wheels and that wouldn't be cheap. What wheel tyre combination do you have already? Is it even feasible for you to swap within the manufacturer' range of options? Are you prepared to lose the sharper turn-in? Most SUVs subjectively look better with a larger wheel, would you be prepared to accept the change in look? Only you can decide. For me, I'll stick with what the car comes with and when the tyres wear out, I'll look at what's on the market and decide which way to go - or buy a new car (I wish!).
  24. At the time I ordered, I believed the deposit was fully refundable too (as it was with a Toyota I had ordered) but, after I had placed the order, I received an email from the salesman to say my deposit was NOT refundable. No issue for me as I had no intention to cancel but it might be worth checking as all dealers might not be the same.
  25. If ordered with the car (before the option was removed from the options list), your new car would have gone through Derby (I think) where such extras were fitted. Looking at the fitting instructions, it looks complicated but not impossible. My guess is that either the dealer doesn't feel confident in fitting it or he can't actually get hold of one to fit for you. My reading is that Ukraine produced a lot of electrical cables used in vehicles and this is now in short supply. What stock there is out there, is being prioritised for the main vehicle. Hence the decision by Lexus to temporarily suspend the tow bar option.
