Lexus Dealer Service in Under One Hour...
Harrier Man replied to NemesisUK's topic in Lexus General Discussions
Not a real time video but this service from the Car Care Nut suggests that a one hour servicing is potentially possible. It still doesn't feel right though, especially given the cost of the service. -
What Three Words
Harrier Man replied to Beduffshirl's topic in Lexus UX200, UX250, UX250h, UX300e Club
I've been using it for 2-3 years now and never had a problem of the app leading to spam. I believe W3W was a UK initiative so I feel more comfortable than I do with apps from some other countries. We all have to make up our own minds about the apps we use and how much of ourself we are prepared to give away for the benefit of a 'free' app. Social media apps are a prime example. I like to go orienteering and this is another example of the benefits of W3W. We are often directed to park in a field, the start is in another field that can easily be a mile away. If anyone is injured, their position in the forest or on a hillside can readily be pinpointed. We carry detailed maps but they don't have OS markings on them. GPS co-ords would be possible but numbers can easily be transposed so I much prefer the more user-friendly W3W format. -
NX 2022 delivery date
Harrier Man replied to KoeNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
Welcome to the forum Bob. I joined before I took delivery of my car too. Lots of good information to absorb and to answer any questions you might have before delivery. The Search option is very handy if you think a topic might have been covered before. Lots on this thread about delivery times in general, Lexus delivery times and model specific delivery times in particular. General consensus is that it is worth the wait and I agree; love my new car. -
What Three Words
Harrier Man replied to Beduffshirl's topic in Lexus UX200, UX250, UX250h, UX300e Club
From what I read, most of the concerns come from the use of similar words (sibling and siblings for example) being used, which give different locations. Some of these locations are countries apart and obvious but others are just streets apart. Granted that this is not ideal but if the user gives the wrong 3 words, they can hardly blame the recipient for going to the wrong place. Just double check your spelling and you'll find that this is a great app (I am not affiliated with W3W in any way!). -
What Three Words

The list is endless. My house is out in the sticks so I have a W3W for the junction to turn off the road, a W3W for the front door, a W3W for the shed that I give to delivery drivers dropping off parcels. If I'm walking in the hills or out on my paddle board in the sea and need emergency assistance then I can give my location within a 3 metre square. Absolutely brilliant. I hope these examples give some ideas of the benefits. -
Run-flats do have stiffer side walls and, as these are found on the 20" wheels, the height of the sidewall is also reduced in comparison to the 18" 'normal' tyres fitted to my NX. Both factors would indicate a theoretically harsher ride but other factors are in play; suspension design and the make (construction) of the tyre. Others have commented that Michelin Cross Climates have given them a quieter, more comfortable ride when they have switched to them. Tyres are always a compromise, just take a look at Blackcircles website (other websites are available!) where they clearly show a tyre's rating for fuel efficiency, road noise and wet weather performance. I am very happy with the ride comfort on my car; however, the only real opinion that matters will be your impressions when you test drive the car with the spec' you're considering.

I love my NX 450h+. Had it since the first September and its now covered around 2,300 miles, the first 1,800 of which was on holiday through Scotland, England and Wales so a good mix of driving. Over that time my mpg worked out to around 60mpg but that doesn't reflect the cost of the electricity that I put in. I miss the better turning circle of all my previous cars but the quality of the Lexus (except the App software) makes up for that. Most trips since getting home have been my commute to work (usually a 28 mile round trip) that is all on electric. Easily achievable even with the heated seats and steering wheel on. Range is regularly given at around 45 miles when I leave home on a full charge and that seems pretty accurate. Range when I got home this evening was given as 14 miles. As an engineer, I really appreciate the quality of the design, engineering and build. Software directly associated with the mechanicals (engine, traction control, ICE/EV integration, etc) seems pretty well spot on. I struggle to read the detail in the dash layout and would like more options for the dash displays and in other areas. I don't find the SatNav as bad as some owners proffer but, having said that, Waze is much better! I'm eagerly awaiting updates to the App that will allow me to change units, send a journey planned from my sofa to the car, wireless Android, etc. Hopefully coming soon.

Headlight Sensitivity Setting
Harrier Man replied to Marlinleg's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
Interesting, I hadn't spotted this option. My issue is that the lights don't automatically come even when it's raining and the wipers are on. The Highway Code is clear that lights MUST be used when visibility is seriously reduced. Of course the phrase 'seriously reduced' is open to interpretation but my guide has always been that if my wipers need to be on continuously, then visibility is reduced enough to warrant the lights being on. At the moment, my Lexus fails this test so I am keen to explore this option to see what difference it makes. -
Setting Home address in navigation
Harrier Man replied to AlanDL's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
I set mine for the middle of a nearby roundabout that serves 2 housing estates. For this reason, I like the way of setting 'Home' as described by Peter; better and safer than entering my physical address. -
Lane Departure Assist
Harrier Man replied to RXtoNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
I would worry about compulsory speed limiters. Several times in the last few days the speed limit icon on the dash has shown the wrong value; 40mph when I'm on a 60mph road, 60mph when on a dual carriageway. If this same information is used for the speed limiters, there are going to be a lot of frustrated drivers and likely quite a few accidents caused by faulty software too. -
Best way to charge a NX450h+
Harrier Man replied to Marc Jolly's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
I think Joe is on the right lines with his reply. I recently had an update to my Samsung tablet, after which it gave me a message along the lines that in future it would be showing 100% charge even when at 85% in order to preserve battery life. -
Smart Keyless Entry
Harrier Man replied to bgb's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
This is where I have settled too. Easy, practical and, I feel, sufficient for my quiet neck of the woods on a day-to-day basis. However, I also have steering lock for the reasons Herbie outlines above for when I am in more vulnerable parts of the country. -
Heated Windscreen
Harrier Man replied to 61babes's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
I've had my 450h+ for about 6 weeks now and for the first time I used the App to set Climate Control before climbing into the car. It had been charging overnight so the car was still plugged in. I set the temperature to 21 degrees for 15 minutes and climbed into a lovely warm car. No ice about but I'm sure all my windows would have been cleared had there been a heavy frost and all without the need for a heated windscreen. Happy. -
NX 2022 delivery date

Mine was 34 days on the ship and then a couple of weeks after that (but some off the same ship had theirs within a week) -
VIN number-What does it tell you?
Harrier Man replied to Paul Purnell's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
No. https://driving-tests.org/vin-decoder/ will show what the VIN does tell you. -
Do the 18inch alloys look okay?
Harrier Man replied to Deb's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
Last week I had my 450 on 18" wheels parked next to a 350 on 20" wheels. The difference was negligible until one looked more closely. They both looked fabulous. -
Arrived AWD
Harrier Man replied to Marlinleg's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
I cannot speak from personal experience as I didn't own the previous NX but I was speaking to someone on Tuesday who had driven the old one and thought it did have a better turning circle. I don't have figures for the turning circle but in my view, the turning circle of the new NX is larger than any car that I have owned in the last 45 years. -

NX 2022 delivery date
Harrier Man replied to KoeNX's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
Same as Paul, my update came through when my car was on the ship. The app doesn't use the clearest choice of words. -
I don't know about the message (I'd try it accept it's raining!) but my dealer told me that map updates usually come out twice a year but that the last one was - you've guessed it, last October. Mind you, I was also told that the update would happen 'over the air' (OTA) but my last car (updates about once a year) took around 45 minutes from a fast USB3 stick so I can envisage OTA map updates being a recipe for disaster. However, we'll see.

No AA Card in New NX
Harrier Man replied to Marlinleg's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
I have had my car a month and not had an email from Lexus, AA or anyone else relating to Roadside Assistance. There is a button within my version of the Lexus Link App for Roadside Assistance but this simply gives the number to call. -
I went for this one a couple of years ago (when it was cheaper!) and there were few trackers available that didn't come without an extortionate monthly subscription: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TKSTAR-TK905-Rechargable-Positioning-Waterproof/dp/B071FQNQ1L/ref=sr_1_3?crid=17VR4RSX3RIOK&keywords=vehicle+tracker&qid=1664725393&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI0LjkwIiwicXNhIjoiNC4xNCIsInFzcCI6IjMuNTQifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=vehicle+tracker%2Caps%2C89&sr=8-3 Above still needs a SIM card of course. Being a Chinese model, it wasn't recognised as a valid tracker by one of the Insurance Companies that offered a discount for trackers. I like that it has a battery, that lasted about 3 months a charge when it was new. Now lasts about a month. I did buy a 12V/24V adapter (about £12 IIRC), which worked very well but I'm not using that at the moment. If I was looking now, I would certainly check out Herbie's recommendation, looks good and very reasonable.

Charging speed...
Harrier Man replied to Bish1402's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h Club
Although I don't have a lot of experience charging my 450h+, I have noticed that the charge completes an hour before the time I set in the charging schedule. Anybody else experienced this?
