  1. My battery lasted 11 month and two weeks before it gave up. The dealer replaced it at the service and I was told that 'they had put a stronger battery' in it! I'm not familiar with what a 'stronger battery' might look like! I was fortunate in that I received two fobs with my car so I was able to use the spare for the 2 weeks before the service was due. Prior to my NX, I have only had to replace one fob battery and that was after 4 years of use.
  2. I hope your dealer is correct Magnus. When I got my car in September 22, I was told to expect wireless android by the end of the year (2022)!
  3. Can you be more specific Giuseppe? What is it that you find unacceptable and a total nightmare?
  4. I wasn't totally happy with the Lexus satnav when I picked up my car last year so I used Waze, which was my previous favourite. Then it took me down a very long narrow lane that in no way was the quickest route so I decided to give the Lexus satnav another chance. By and large, over several months, it's been okay (although I don’t like the narrow road width). However, over a recent long trip I noticed it would often send me a long way round to avoid a small section of orange road ( indicating slow moving traffic). This wouldn't necessarily have been an issue except that some roads were ridiculously narrow single tracks with grass growing along the centre. Meet one car coming the other way and the delay was far worse than the short orange section in Kendal Town centre. Next trip, I compared the Lexus route with Google maps only this time it was Google that proposed the single track whilst Lexus proposed the sensible main road route. Not sure how each app's algorithm is set up but all need improvement and to give driver's options on which roads to include/exclude.
  5. Ouch! My predicted range has never reached the dizzy heights of some but has been consistently hovering around the 50m mark for a while - until tonight when I had a massive drop to 45.0/44.1 hope that's a one-off glitch as it's too soon in autumn for figures that low.
  6. I have a basic 2022 450h that is fitted with 18" wheels and 10" display and I'm totally happy. I believe the larger 20" wheels are fitted with lower profile tyres so the overall diameter is very similar so they don't look 'ridiculously small'. I actually prefer the look, seems more balanced to my eye. I don't get to see the location of speed cameras on my 10" display and there is a small difference in layout but 10 inches is still a decent size and I think you can go too big but, then again, I was happy with a 32" TV until I got a 42" one, which I was very happy with but now I prefere my 55" monster! A lot comes down to personal taste. Can't help with 3).
  7. From experience, I have found that kicking in and out, rather than side to side, is more effective. It now works for me first time, most of the time. The in,out action is also quite subtle and gives me a good chance to show off the magic opening door as I wave my hands around in various poses! It amuses the kids and totally bamboozles the sister-in-law!
  8. My car came with two keys but this was over a year ago and the keys don’t utilise the UWB technology. I assume that not only are the keys different but there are likely to be some changes to the car components too as the car and key both need to be talking to each other in the same 'language' in order for the doors to be unlocked and the engine to start. Hence, it is no surprise to me that you cannot acquire an old style key because that would be talking a different language. The thefts of Yaris are not such a problem so they can be delivered with the old style keys. Once the production of keys that utilise UWB technology ramps up, the problem will go away. My sympathies are with those who only have one key at the moment but, in the long run, they will have a vehicle more resistant to being stolen. Given the choice, I would rather have one UWB key now with a second to come rather than 2 keys and the increased worry of theft (as I have now).
  9. I collected my car a year ago and it came with 2 cables. Justifiably so as I use both in equal measure.
  10. As we've seen with the high profile news items recently on shoplifters that are getting more and more brazen, thieves are just laughing at the law in the knowledge that they are unlikely to get caught. In one case, a small shop had installed 23 cameras but still the police didn't respond. It's a sad (and unacceptable) state of affairs.
  11. I wouldn't rule out operator error. Having had my car for a year now, there has been the odd occasion when I have received the same initial message. Basically, I thought I had my foot on the brake with the initial press of the button but, in reality, my finger was marginally quicker than my foot. Should no problem, the dash tells me what to do, but if I inadvertently get the timing wrong and double tap the start button, nothing happens. In my 450, and possibly your 350, the engine doesn't start so there is no audible cue that the car is ready to go. There is a Ready indicator on the dash but after years of low tech motoring, I still don't instinctively look for this. Usually, I move the gear lever and if Drive or Reverse lights up, I know the car is ready. If it doesn't light up, I check the dash panel. Usually it says, 'idiot behind the wheel, get a grip'. Or something like that to give me a clue. Maybe it's just me ...
  12. When I picked up my car in Sep 22, I was told map updates were usually released in October/November each year. I asked about getting the map updated when my car was serviced last month and was told that it wasnt necessary and I could expect around 24 updates each year. This would make sense if small OTA were being done and is a much better idea than one dealer update per year. It worries me that two different dealers are telling their customers two different things.
  13. My 450 doesn't have defroster wires as far as I know. If there are some very fine wires that I cannot see, they certainly weren't working last winter! Maybe the spec is different for different countries?
  14. Depends on the model. My 450 is on 18" wheels and tyres are not run-flats. I was supplied with a pack for sealing and inflating the tyre in an emergency though. I think all the 20" wheels come with run-flats as standard but not 100% sure about that.
  15. Hi DanP, there are 2 very current threads running on the NX pages: 'NX 450h Security' and 'Ghost 2 immobiliser not yet!' Some of the content refers to the newer models but older content does refer to older models and what people recommend. As Ray says, if they really want your car, they'll find a way and each preventative measure has its own pluses and minuses. For example, you could fit an immobiliser but if the thief doesn't know its fitted (or doesn't believe it), he could cause a lot of damage - but you would probably still have your car. A steering wheel lock is an old-school, visual deterrent for not a lot of money. A tracker might help with recovery but might not prevent your vehicle being stolen in the first place.
  16. Gut wrenching to hear your tale of woe Deb. What is happening? That's the second vehicle of the wrong spec' being delivered. I truly hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction very soon.
  17. I definitely found them very helpful (and they helped the hours go by whilst waiting for delivery); however, remember that they apply to the US spec vehicle and there are differences.
  18. It may just be that not everything has been activated yet. IIRC, the Deep Dive tutorial (or it may have been my dealer) said that not everything gets activated at the same time or straight away. Maybe a week from now all will be well? Hopefully.
  19. I think we're on 5he turn. My charge today was 0.3 down on its best.
  20. I had my car serviced two weeks ago and asked for the map to be updated or to advise how I could do this myself. I was told that I didn't need to do anything as I could expect 24 updates a year, achieved OTA. My previous car needed a very large update (about once a year) that had to be done using a USB stick, an OTA update would not have been feasible. With OTA available, it makes sense to do frequent small updates so I hope that the information that I was given was correct because it seems to be a sensible approach to me.
  21. I've downloaded the new app but it won't let me log in, says my email address isn't recognised (nor my mobile number). Tried numerous times. Anybody else had this problem? I've still got the old app on the phone and it works fine so, given recent comments, perhaps I shouldn't worry?
  22. Just had my car serviced. Service book stamped up correctly; electronic service record shows that a zero had been added to the end of the true mileage! So much for progress.
  23. I agree but I can't stop passengers from fiddling. They seem to think that turning fully to Hi or Lo will make the system reach a comfortable temperature more quickly.
  24. I see Lexus provided you with a handy little jack for rotating the tyres! I, myself, am still waiting for Lexus to fill the hole with a jack and wheel brace 😉
