  1. Cheers all, I'll give A plan a call, they couldnt do much the year before but might be different now.
  2. Yep. spoke to them today, still 140 cheaper than them! Will await the quotes from both to check they are like for like, but when I spoke to Bell they said my mods were on there etc.
  3. Just been hunting through the usual places for car insurance and these guys (Bell Insurance, part of Admiral) came up 140 cheaper than most! Thats with teh induction and lower springs included! Anyone used them before?
  4. Thats not too far off the idea I had to help out my Christmass fund until Ebay pulled the shutters on them being sold LOL
  5. But if you cant see where the edge of the road is at the speed your driving, doesn't that ring an alarm bell to slow down? Another way of looking at it, given you get about 1 - 2m of additional visability, what do you think the max speed you can go is that will allow you to stop in time to avoid that animal/person who cross you path in that distance? Fog lights are not like normal lights in that they are made to create an intense low angle beam, the key word is intense, i.e. more light focused in a small area - this is why they cause dazzle as the light is not distributed over a larger area (i.e. lower intesity) but instead, if you have them on and go over a bump or dip, when you come over the bump or out of that dip, your higher than normal intensity lights may be at the right angle to hit the oncomming driver in the eyes. Your main bulb is 60W spread over a large area, your fog is 51W (same as your dipped lights) but focused over a narrow beam = more intense. /rant I have no problem with them being used when it is foggy, I even now mentaly make allowances for seeing them on when it isn't foggy all over... but using them as soon as it starts raining which seems to be the growing trend now (in addition to side lights and fogs for chav/boy racer element) is just plain stupid. People may as well drive round with their full beam on as when the fog light is reflected up, it is no less a blinding light. raaaarrrrrrr... now I am wound up LOL
  6. Nah, but apparently worn ones command a higher price LOL
  7. I can't believe someone thought they would get a sympathetic ear by coming on here and complaining about getting a fine for being a fog light muppet! I hope this isnt the start of the invasion of the 'chav' element now the prices of the cars are dropping! I am totally with Wozza on this one :)
  8. Sounds like a good ebay business to me.... similar to the one I had in Gold involving ladies pants a few years ago :)
  9. Sounds like electric nitro :)
  10. EVO had a 250 on long term test (iirc) which I was reading the end report whilst in the Dentist waiting room this week. They liked it, which was nice. IS-F should be more fun I would have thought. It will be interesting to see how having that much power etc effects teh day to day driving experiance.
  11. 18's for me if they are the darker ones. The wire ones just dont look like they cut it IMHO.
  12. Mark - its actually the opps of that. The low noise stuff is pourous asphalt it drains water away so you have less spray as well. A special mix is required to grit it however and maintenance is quite expensive. It depends of course what is under it, there was talk of the HA re-surfacing all concrete roads with it at one point to counter road noise to residents, I dont think it went much further due to cost and technical issues. I am not a pavement engineer though!
  13. From my discussions with Tony, this effect is only realy a problem when your wheels are not straight, if they are straight, the majority of the forces are dissapaited by the suspension components. Get yourself to WIM - you really are missing out on a great set up and some good info.
  14. The cameras used in Speedcheck's SPECS system are also made by CRS
  15. Yes, it is ANPR whilst it could be part of Project Laser, it could also be part of the County Council baselining and measurement against the congestion targets for the local transport plan and national indicator (NI) 167 measures, if the authority can show a enhancement in journey reliability and journey time, it can be rewarded by additional funding for other transport projects - this is big money to the LA's, it can be £1M+. They use similar systems in a number of local authority areas, for example there is a PIPS system in Essex and Devon. Sometimes the LA systems supplement the Police systems for specific surveilance requests.
  16. From what I have read on blackcircles, it is not recommended to have directionals on the rear only, but it is ok to have them on the front. i.e. Asymetrical rear and directional front is OK, but not the other way round. I am looking at some Goodyear F1 Asym tyres at the moment, but unsure as to whether to get all 4 done as I think there is a little more left on the fronts.
  17. So has anyone got any experiance of these Eagle F1 Asymetrics relative to the Bridgestone Protenzas ? I need two new rears, so I am also in the market for new rubber :)
  18. I run 36 in mine on long journeys and get great fuel consumption as a result.
  19. Westfield Motors, but I think it is about the same distance, they are based in Rayleigh, Essex
