  1. Live out in the country, tyres are endlessly skidding and the back end keeps coming out, traction on of course. tyres are rubbish!!!
  2. How did i know a Bimmer driver would be mentioned Glad you are not too badly hurt, sorry to hear about the car, but GS300 in black sounds Pimp (get some 18 or 19" momo sport alloys on it, damn!!!!!!!!!)
  3. Whats wrond with Merc Tail lights??? Esp on the S55 AMG, Hey, anyone else notice that the Lexus GS300 front lights were sneakily copied by Merc onto the E series (i think) a few yrs back? Good to see Lexus starting trends off (like the IS200 clusters).
  4. The 1 series BMW is also Nasty , and the X3 is a waste of metal ← For the money, and subtlety, the 325ti compact is an awesome car though, but i do understand what you mean. Sorry yeah just re-read his post, still don't think there is a cheap mans BMW though. But I agree, the X3, 1 Series, Z8 and Z3 could all be seen as ugly cars, with the Z3 esp. seeing how they made the beefier Z4.
  5. Would harldy say the 1 Series Bimmer is a cheap mans BMW????? No offence, but at that price, you can buy a nice 3 series or Z3, so dont really think that at all. Understandable with a Porsche, hence the boxster, due to mass difference in price range there, but not BMW. Sorry, thats my 2 cents, but im a Bimmer Fan anyhow
  6. Nah, the wheel's fine....it's the rest of car which has been built on the wrong side of it. :P ← Welcome mate, wish i was on ur side of the pond. Don't suppose you know anywhere cheap to get some private flying hours in do you? lol
  7. I do have an UK lisence, I learnt and got it here, but as you said, not for too long. I am also a British citizen with a British passport (don't know if that means anything for insurance though). And yes, my family is not over here :o . However, from reading this thread, i suppose an S model is absolutely duable? Especially my area is a really safe area... Eitherway, thanks again for everyone's kind help, I shall keep you guys updated if anything happens in the upcoming months! ← 21 yrs old, is200 is £2100, BMW 330 ACS is £3100. Thats a £1000 per litre. Your postcode is a big factor im afraid mate, if i was a few miles one way or the other, could knock £500 off mine. It sux Damn Scouse Postcodes, don#t even live near Liverpool
  8. Yikes :D ← bloody hell!!! I like Burberry, that make me a chav??? Prefer the expression, PIMP
  9. RIght, when i bought my BMW, tried Jag, noisy engines, tried Merc, electrical problems and bit too expensive, tried Audi, MUCH 2 much expensive, and volvo was never an option. Personally not keen on Saab. I'd go for BMW, despite what people say they are a fantastic car, but buyt second hand. There are great bargains to be had.
  10. hmm, someones been watching Top Gear i think!! If i remember correctly, bout an hour with an AA man and it was back on the road.
  11. Im 21 over 3yrs driving with perfect license, and pay £2100. Personally, i think either he has put something in wrong perhaps (sorry if u haven't - don't want you to take offence), or you live in a very good area (i.e. your postcode - mine is Liverpool, so my cost is gonna be stupidly high, despite living no where near liverpool).
  12. You lucky b**t**d!!! IS200SE, £2100, BMW 330AC Schnitzer, £3100. U r damn lucky for your insurance. I have a clean license as well and at 21 yrs old.
  13. Can i have it then? ← Peter Jackson Jewellers do either a 9 or an 18 carat gold keyfob in BMW, Mercedes, Audi, all luxury cars, but not Lexus, gutted... Have one for BMW, but not for Lexus.
  14. Haha, very very good point! That starts a new post though now, what is the average age of a lexus driver who also has a house and possibly family???
  15. My dad was sent across three lanes of the M6 at 85mph after his tyres blew up due to something similar to this. He was lucky, sincerest apologies gor yourself and close ones for not being so lucky
  16. Nice Altezza??? what about that Supra!!! Anyone know what alloys are on them in both the supra pics??? I want one :tsktsk: B)
  17. So does anyone know what exactly is the safest way of driving in the snow? Fortunately i haven't had to deal with it yet, but with the shi**y traction system we have, won;t the wheels just endlessly spin, therefore the engine won;'t let you rev??
  18. Heres the thread is started on it http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=17590 Happy drifting, unless your like me, who still don't have the balls to try it!!! Hey roadrash, that you Supra???
  19. what is that in the centre cosole where the radio should be?
  20. Is there a nice tidy unit like this that you can buy but that doesn't plug into the cigarette lighter, don't think i could cope with the wires trailing everywhere! ← Rob, your the same as me with regard to untidy wires. But I do own a TomTom Go and it comes with a mains charger and cigarette lighter charger, however the internal battery lasts for 8 hours fully charged, so I rarely use the in-car charger. ← Oh ok, so the wire to the cigarette lightrer is purely a charger, it doesn't have to be plugged in all the time? Does that mean you can literally have the tom tom on its own in a cradle somewhere? Thanks for the info by the way :)
  21. http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/assets/pdf/Autocar_hot.pdf What do you guys think? Thinking of trading the Lexus for it at some point in the future. I know it's not the same luxury, but what a car hey!!
  22. Exactly. There have been suggestions of ECU reprogramming and battery changes. With my luck, my first choice would be the wrong one so I was hoping the behaviour this morning might help to indicate that it was more likely linked to the battery. Don't want to put up with it much longer though. Kinda embarassing when you're struggling to start a nice car when the beaten-up jallopies disappear into the distance. Pete ← Should be replaced by Lexus if still under warranty i think. Not 100% sure though?
  23. They would let me take one for 24 hours, but it had to be covered under my own insurance (as opposed to a test-drive which is under Lexus insurance). I didn't need it, mind was made up right from test-drive! Uncle_Rob
