Sorry to hear this mate. I know exactly how you feel. At least your only on your first rebuild :winky:
Don't bother with an independant report. As Neil has said its really a waste of money as you will never find exactly or prove why the con-rod snapped. We all know they are very weak and can even snap under hardly any power.
Also my battery has died plenty of times on the car and even replaced it. In fact its probably dead again now as I've not driven it for about a month. The map and data will still remain on there.
There were a few more things I was going to say but after reading 8 pages I've forgotten.
Hope you get it sorted mate
Love the rs4. The looks, sound, performance, everything about them I would love to see one of these bad boys parked on my drive in the near future :winky:
Still clocking up those miles. Its going slow as the idle really ****** me off. I drove it up to Liverpool (300 mile round trip) the other week and on the motorways and even through the built up areas it was driving excellently and really does pull when you put your foot down (still keeping under 5k revs). The main problem is when stuck in motorway traffic or any traffic that is stop start. As it seems to be over fuelling it bogs the car down when stop starting traffic and it just gets worse and worse. This causes the car to start cutting out so you have to keep reving it. I was certainly getting loads of looks off people.
Having said that its nearing the required running in miles. Then I can get the map and idle sorted. Then after having a play, I'll definately be putting it up for sale as I've got other plans. :)
