  1. Just looked and it is sitting at 30.4mpg for last 600 odd miles
  2. Nice rant Damian! Bet that made you feel better! This may help with London traffic problems Help in London Traffic :winky:
  3. 1 - It's still a M class and 2 - Are there not Merc forums that........
  4. We are getting about 28mpg and used to get 19mpg in our RX300 (Mk 1 and Mk2) Driving style has not changed and car spends most of it's time tootling around Edin and up and down the M6 to Chester. It is definitely better MPG but don't buy it to save petrol money, it will take too long to pay back. As for your decision it is just that - let us know what you decide.
  5. Not so quickly! In a recent referendum the Edinburgh population votes 75% NO! Woot!
  6. Where's London? Is that south on Newcastle? oh and while I am at it what's congestion? :winky:
  7. I enjoy JC and I enjoy my RX400h. What people should not do, ironically, is take anything he says as an indication of how good the car is. He is a showman, a psudo celeb, and enterainer. If you want to see what the RX400h is like go and drive one! JC (the other one)
  8. lol - so takes you to work during the week and tractor pulling comps at the weekend?
  9. Go on gas - admit it, it was my big red letters that did it! :D
  10. Sorry waaaaaaaay but........... Oooh A8 chipped - who did that for you and what are the perfomance figures now? PS Gas - at least all this chat stops you from buying a BMW! :winky:
  11. Don't buy a BMW There you go, sorted ← Says the man with an audi heh heh heh :) :P ← :D :D :winky: :winky: :winky: Don't really have an opinion on BMWs - I was just doing as requested! For the record I love my TT! It has been modded to about 270bhp and it is a lot of fun. Can't really think of anything which I would rather have at the mo. Even drove an C4S and TBH is was better but NOT £40k better.
  12. Good point about what is a 4x4. My TT is 4x4 also, well kinda, let's not get into the whole Haldex debate here..........
  13. Well put Rillo, i am so bloody angry about this, i can't believe that only a few people have posted on this, why do they just accept it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ← Ok another post if that is what is required. My view? Well, am I happy, no! Surprised, not really! 4X4 are a current easy target - bad PR and all that! That said all of us who do not immediately sell our RXs are, by default, accepting the tax. It is a purely optional tax, like all car tax, if we want to avoid or at least minimise then we should all drive Saxos. We live in a democracy, if the politicians do things which annoy us, vote them out, if they are all rubbish, stand for elections and change things our self, if that does not work move to a county which has more agreeable politics. All options completely within our control - so in a nut shell we all will choose whether we want to pay the extra £200 - it's our choice. John
  14. Little orange light comes on when low. On the RX300 you also have 'range' in the Sat Nav. Under 'info' i think, tells you how far you can go on what is left in the tank. They all also have a great feature which informs you of low fuel.... ...they stop, clever huh? :winky:
  15. I am with Lexus Insurance £ 310 :D ← Who underwrites that?
  16. Sorry to hear you have had a leak - none here, thankfully! Hope you get sorted.
  17. You rang? Yup - I have the Lexus tow bar fitted. Lexus do not have a detachable one available for the RX400h. IIRC I was told that there was not enough room with the electric motor and all that for one. I also understand that the RX electrics can be difficult to fit a non standard one as some sections of wireing do many jobs and it is not just as simple as splicing into them to get indicator/electric etc feeds. I went the OEM way and got the dealer to fit. C £750 but I felt worth it as it is fully covered under warrantee and my Caravan is 1500 kg and cost £20K so did not want to risk trashing that for the sake of and extra £300. Enjoy!
  18. It's because it's a fork lift truck not and RX. Try lifting lighter pallets. Sorry - Friday afternoon, you know how its gets!
  19. Q - Why did the Lexus cross the road... A - Becuase the chickens had already done so and the Sat Nav wanted to join them! Boom boom! :P :D :P :D :P :D
  20. Ok, says he getting sucked into the debate...... Now, first things first, it is very easy for me to comment on this as I have a RX400h sitting outside which is not lurching, spitting, crying, poking or doing anything which upsets or annoys me. This will potentially make me argue the other side of the debate but I hope I do this impartially and without prejudice to the 'problem'. In response to the 'If Lexus had dealt with this in an impressive way'. Well the issue it not yet resolved. I totally agree that the contact issue which I raised in my previous post is not good. They should be managing your expectations well and at the least fulfilling contact promises. This is, as is demonstrable from previous posts, causing the complainants frustration. How much better would this whole situation be if members had been kept up to date. We have heard it all before
  21. Evening all, I have been lurking on this thread with interest put not posting 'till now. I only have two observations to make. 1 - I am in Service Quality for a FSTE top 100 by trade. If there is one thing organisations can do to appease a situation is keep contact promises. Like all Service issue this is soooooo simple. Phone when you say you will, call when you say you will, write when you say you will. Even when you have nothing to tell call anyway and reposition the next contact. Manage and where possible exceed expectations - simple. If you are not getting this then Lexus are really missing a trick. 2 - All the 'letting Watchdog, Top Gear etc know'. I fully understand why this is seen as a tactic which can work in getting PR and therefore action. My one caution, however, is the negative effect this can have on the Model and Brand and therefore residuals. As many have said here the RX is a great car apart form these issues. And indeed when I had my RX300 before the hybrid I thought it was great too. (Incidentally I did not experience lurching) My point is that if this does come to the fore and much publicity is raised then the RX could be a worse purchase proposition and thus have a lower residual. Is that something we all want? I am not suggesting that the approach is wrong, just that it may have some consequences. My 2 cents. John
  22. RX - Esure, but like you say no claims [touches wood] TT - Bell Direct - have some mods and they are mod friendly
