  1. ***MODERATOR/ADMINISTRATORS I dont know how to put posts up in the 'buy and sell' forums as it sais i do not have permission although i am a gold member!!!**** After selling up my IS for a soarer i still have these parts open to offers.... I have one altezza Torsen LSD with less than 20K on it in purrfect nick and one complete set of coilovers from the infamous Kei Office Japan with top mounts and fully adjustable. They are very lightweight and of the highest quality! I just wished they had arrived before i sold the IS just to see how awesome they really are when fitted! Anyway... im open to serious offers although im sure ill be loosing money on both as i payed £400 for LSD and £600 for Kei Office coilovers!!! But im not looking for that sort of money. They are both on Ebay if you want to see pictures and i can send extra pics if you like. Please email on NI_cad7@hotmail.com with any questions Cheers guys! :D :D
  2. Ok, those with TTE c/o, canyou tell me what setting you have them on.. ie at the moment i have set up the spring compression as per below, front at 235mm and the rear at 105mm. TTE then go on to give there recomondations (fr 220-245mm & rr 95-120mm) Now the problem im having is that on a reasonabley hard corner with just me in the car i get the wheels rubbing the arch... why... surely its not the wieght of the engine (is300) as this kit is also used on the IS430...
  3. Just managed to get hold of some kei office coilovers off ebay for an absolute bargain! (£610 inc shipping/insurance from japan.) will post a review and pics of what should a fairly awesome suspension system. anyway, my point is that if anyone needs some exotic and rare parts like these ill forward you this guys email who can source them new or second hand n japan! :D
  4. Any opinions as to the best ride height for these without making understeer bad? I don't wanna go too low with all the speed bumps around town. Was thinking about the tyres 10mm below the rim?
  5. I am considering a set of Tein CS for my car - and have some (embarassingly) basic questions. 1 - how heavy are they? Only place I have seen an indication is on lextasy (you have to add to cart and checkoput). That says 65 lbs - 15lbs per corner, or 7 bags of sugar? Is that weight right? Seems awful heavy. I know they can't be light as a feather - but that seems a lot. How heavy are the standard components? 2 - Can you see the struts through the wheels? Sad - I know. But the CS are an especially tacky gold colour - and I really wouldn't want them to be visible if I could help it. 3 - How do you adjust the height? Specifically - can you do it with the car on the road, or does it need to be on a ramp / jacked up? Once you have finished laughing at my cluelessness - would appreciate your answers :D
  6. Well i met up with fargo on sunday and he put the idea of getting TTE coilovers on my car. I was considering this b4 but with the Teins. but im realy not keen on the metalic noises that come thru the body shell with these other kits. How good is the TTE kit? i know it will be good but compared to the Teins etc in performance, ride etc. have tried doing a search but didnt come up with what i was after. cheers guys
  7. Hi! I'm going to get an entry of the hipermax II coilovers into my car papers. It's illegal to have them in your car, without any certification and without any entry in your car papers of them, TUEV or such. So I'm asking if anybody knows where I could get a certification sheet of the HKS Hipermax II coilovers used on a Lexus IS200/IS300 or Toyota Altezza, which says that those things are made for this car and can be used and is OK and is strong enough and such. (Austrian bureaucracy :duh: :shutit: ) Can you help me guys?? :) Let me know please, Mike :)
  8. Hi all, as per the title - those of you that have changed ur suspension setup etc, what did u do with you old shock absorbers???? If you still have them, i might be interested in them????? ( playing with an idea) pm me with a price and we will go from there cheers rob.
  9. OK, I've sourced some Bilstein coilovers for the 1997 > GS300/430. They are adjustable for height (not damping) Next to Koni Bilstein are arguably the best manufacturer of suspension in the world. So they are top quality ! Prices per set are Goldies £946.67 plus P&P Non Goldies £986.12 plus P &P Suggested retail price £1009.33 PM or email me for futher details Dave
  10. I have been using eibach lowered springs on my IS for quite some time but feel I need to go lower. The eibachs lower by 30mm, cobra springs by 40mm but is it wise to go lower with springs alone? Will this damage the dampers? I wish to lower the rear end 50-60mm. Would it be better to by coilovers instead? I've seen brands such as apexi, tein, koni. What do you guys think and what brand is best?
  11. Found this over at IS300.net http://www.is300.net/modules.php?name=Foru...opic&t=13387093 Dunno if its been posted but could be the answer to everyones prayers!
  12. I've just recently won from ebay some Apexi N-1 coilovers. They are being fitted as we speak. But the instructions for them are in Japanese. I was wondering if some one could translate the instructions for me, or give me a quick description of how to use/adjust them. :D
  13. I've ditched my GAB coilovers and fitted the Apexi ones. What a revelation. I think the GAB's were desgined for tracks/very smooth roads. No good for this country then... I wasn't aware of the aftermarket suspension until I picked the vehicle up. Wouldn't have stopped me buying it, just wouldn't have paid any extra for it. ;) Are they worth it? A definite resounding yes! B) Ok, the turn-in isn't quite as razor sharp, but mid-corner bumps no longer affect the line. The ride is well controlled and really smooth now. I was surprised by how adjustable they are. A few clicks on the top knobs makes a considerable difference. Had a play this weekend and got the ride set up to my complete satisfaction. A very worthwhile mod. B) BTW, I could claim to be a mechanical genius and rabbit on about how easy they were to fit, but my mate has his own commercial garage and he fitted them for me in about 3 hours. He reckons they were easy though. :D
  14. Anyone heard of these??!!
  15. Ok, Just a few thoughts for those of you thinking about changing the suspension on your IS's. I've changed from Eibachs (-30mm) to TEIN Flex coilovers (with EDFC) and whilst a lot more expensive @ £1500 inc Gordon Browns nursery fees the difference in handling has been a revelation. No more pitching or rolling..........roundabouts near me that I would go round at 40 mph max (car rolling a lot) at the same speed there is amazing turn in feel, and hardly any roll at all........... The EDFC device is clever as well in that you can adjust the damping as you drive along !! also front rear bias all very trick. So...........I'd recommend the TEIN edfc kit and suggest you wait a while & starve the kids send the wife out to take a night job in Safeways then go for a coilover kit !!
  16. Yippy :) Finally had time to drop the car off this morning and had the kit fitted. Feels great, No unusual noises, but I had a snag.. The garage who computer tracked the car could NOT get the Camber adjustment bolts loose for adjusting. Has anyone ever had this problem, or got any tips to loosen these up? They tryed a LONG wrench and still could'nt do the job.. Suggested heating them up but would damage the bushes in process, meaning renewal.... I think i have to lower the front one notch and raise the rear a notch.. does'nt look height balanced at the mo but not too far off. Thanks to Mark @ TDi again for supplying such a Great kit..
  17. Hello from Finland! I have owned my IS200 couple of months now, and guess what, feels gooooood! :D I have a one guestion about lowering. Does anyone have any experience about K&W coilovers? I think I'll go for coils 'cos I have to think about snowy winters too. So anything bad or good of K&W? Or is there some better ones in same price?
  18. I am considering in investing for some coilovers, looking at what other members have and what is available .. i.e. HKS, Tein or TTE... What are your opinions on coilovers and which is a good make of coilover for the IS200..
  19. Hi Guy's, It's time to buy some coilovers, and I wanted your opinion on which ones to go for!! I've looked at the TTE ones which seemed to be ok, but I'm not sure wether they drop low enough. It says in the web site that they drop to 50mm, but my car is already sat 40mm lower than standard using Apex springs. That means only a reduction of 10mm which isn't enough. Does anyone know if this is correct, and if so, are there any other systems out there that I could use, to safely drop it another 25mm (at least) ??????? Don't want to spend a grand just to gain a 10mm drop...if y'e know what i mean!!!!!!!...... ANY INPUT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED CHEERS. :D
  20. Hi :D :D :D , I am wondering what most people actually use with their Lexus. Is it coilovers, sport shocks/springs, or only adding lower springs to their standard shocks. Can you also provide feedback on the ride, more comfortable or more firm compared to standard shocks?
  21. Hi, I'm thinking of getting Tein Flex coilovers with EDFC for my Altezza Gita. Will insurance companies usually increase the insurance with such a mod (ie. non-HP boosting)?? Many thanks!
