  1. TPS could be a good one to prioritise, especially if its better at part throttle?
  2. These type of filters allow you to walk away after rinsing. No need to dry, I can attest to that. Perfect for dark coloured cars.

  4. I didn’t think higher octane fuel = worse fuel economy?? It should be more efficient, surely, if the fuel is burning more easily and less energy required for combustion?
  5. Congrats on getting your car featured 😎 I like the look of the W140 - very slab sided but it suits the period and Teutonic-ness
  6. OP’s looks a spitting image of mine except for my clear side repeaters 😊 Will you do enough miles to warrant/justify LPG?. I find potential future buyers are put off by LPG, but this may not matter to you.

  8. IMO - depends on what the rest of the car looks like and how far you want to go. If you spray the rear quarter only, it may show up against adjacent panels. Blending light colours is tricky.
  9. My coolant hasn’t needed topping up in the 18 months i’ve owned the car, so i’m sticking with the genuine Toyota stuff And no, generally its the same coolant year round, although you may want to check the concentration is adequate.
  10. 20mm i believe - that's if you can still buy them. I read that the DHP stuff is all NLA - ARBs, Springs, Shocks
  11. It’s a shame - the h&r springs which were only available in the US are NLA since March last year, they would have been perfect. So if not coilovers, I guess cutting new springs is the only option, not something I’d entertain.
  12. If you're certain its the compressor, i'd get a Denso *new* (OEM) one from RockAuto - change the Condensor at the same time https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/lexus,2004,ls430,4.3l+v8,1426092,heat+&+air+conditioning I don't believe 2004 is facelift, i think that came in 2005/6 ?
  13. Yes, my bracket had snapped, and was fused together with the arm. Couple of spot welds sorted it for now, but will get the SGS part fitted before the next MOT
  14. I’ve used Apec aftermarket discs and pads on my old Merc and now on the 400 - no issues at all with squeal, and the pads generate very little dust.
  15. I just bought one but Toyotatech managed to affect an interim repair to pass the mot - I was being flashed by oncoming traffic, so knew something was amiss: https://www.sgs-engineering.com/gsc2618-lexus-ls400-ride-height-sensor-arm
  16. Pics of the calipers in the ‘Before’ stage:
  17. Re brakes - have you checked your rear calipers are working correctly? I had mine refurbed along with new aftermarket discs, pads, shoes - it’s totally transformed braking performance and pedal feel/effort I didn’t think the rears would have so much affect, but it has on my 400.
  18. If it only happens when you apply the brakes, it will most likely be unclean hubs as mentioned above. This is what Paul at Toyotatech did to my hubs:
  19. Needs a ‘data owner’ of some description, someone to check every 6 months or so. A good idea in theory but it may just be easier link to websites, as they get updated. (7zap, toyodiy etc)
  20. And fitted, courtesy of Paul at Toyotatech (Guildford) who continues to provide excellent service. The difference is amazing! I’ve had to recalibrate how much pedal pressure I apply as the brakes are much more effective than previously Really happy , especially as the ongoing MOT advisory re light corrosion to the underbody has now been removed, after new shocks/springs and new brakes front and rear. New MOT, no advisories 😄
  21. Need model year details too? Plus only of worth if someone keeps it up to date
  22. Powerful stuff - never knew you could do this with a debit card. https://www.money.co.uk/guides/chargeback-claims-how-to-get-your-money-back.htm
