  1. I have the mk4 brochure somewhere, can’t recall if dhp wheels were an option, or only the full pack with suspension and grille. @Newbie1 guess they must have diff bushes. My 911 has 1mm bigger ARBs, had to file material away from the standard super pro bushes for them to fit, although they’d fit without at a push but likely wear sooner.
  2. Could quite easily have been DHP equipped at one point but perhaps had aftermarket or standard springs subsequently fitted
  3. We’ve just moved out of East Finchley, I only ever saw a Silver LS400 mk4 with a private plate outside the Aylmer Pantry coffee shop nr the Esso on route to Highgate. Anyway, I would not recommend Lexus Edgware after my only experience last year. Maybe try Japex in kings Langley - near the train station so easy journey via Euston and circa half the labour rate for a job which is pretty much 95% labour. Probably worth putting your battery on charge overnight, before paying someone to investigate further.
  4. Are they that much cheaper than the competition? kwikfit Mobile, tyres on the drive, black circles etc
  5. Lexus quote £295 for the cambelt alone - do you need everything else done (water pump, pulleys etc) £1k sounds expensive - mine here in London was £800 ish Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. It appeals, but can’t see it being worth 7x what I paid for mine at the same miles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Lack of service records really only come into play on resale, potential buyers will go through the same thought process you’re going through right now. If you plan not to sell, maybe not an issue? Can the cam belt change be evidenced by other means. - eg sticker in the engine bay
  8. I mentioned previously my neighbour gets his LS400 serviced annually at Lexus Guildford (from new) and thinks they’re reasonably priced and provide an excellent service. I can’t afford to go ‘off-piste’ with main dealer labour rates should the need arise, hence looking at alternative options.
  9. Gents Anyone used this outfit in Guildford? We’ve recently moved from north London to Woking, so they’re pretty local. Can’t find much using the search facility TIA
  10. Some truth there - the koenisegg Aguera RS hit ~280mph on Y rated Michelin tyres (186mph limit) https://www.koenigsegg.com/koenigsegg-agera-rs-achieves-multiple-production-car-world-speed-records/
  11. Is it just a lack of appropriate tyres or something specific that makes the ls400 useless in snow? Just back from a 2hr round trip to London Town, amazed how many newish e-class Mercs I saw struggling with the slightest of inclines. Our 62 plate CMax just trundled on bye :)
  12. Just moved house and find myself with an elderly neighbour, who just happens to have an identical Lex to mine in green/ivory. He is the sole owner from new, full LSH, 2 cambelt changes (125k miles) and zero fails indicated on the MOT site. I will ask him to let me know when he decides to sell, or is 2 Lex being greedy?

  14. If that is Euro car Parts, it doesn’t surprise me. Make sure to check carparts4less too, sometime cheaper although they have the same parent company.
  15. Yes agreed, thought I had quoted an earlier post were it was thought dhp wheels we’re Mk4 only
  16. There is a post on here sometime ago confirming dhp wheels, maybe not suspension, were an option prior to the Mk4
  17. I think I prefer the maroon one I linked on the ‘Shortage of decent cars thread”
  18. Can we start taking about cars again? Threads going off topic is annoying at best, and becoming more prevalent in the LS section. Mr Doofa - the car looks/reads ok, but assuming you’re ok with a cosmetically (paint) challenged one, as sounds you’ll have to spend money to get the paint right Cambelt - isn’t there a year limit too or is it just miles? It hit 68k miles in circa 2005-6 so I’d be looking at changing if it was me. springs - I wonder if used springs were fitted to pass the mot. depends on your use case, if you’re happy driving as it is, great, otherwise it *may* be cheaper buying a better example to start with.
  19. Thanks for the replies. The tracking guy said he couldn't adjust as the outer rod was effectively welded together .
  20. I would replace them as you're effectively paying the labour already, so should be a parts only job effectively. maybe just me (and newbie1 ;) )
