  2. Profile not syncing has been the bane of my life and continues to be so. If anyone knows how to fix this permanently please let me know. Regarding problems with the uppercase key have you checked the temporary screen protector has been removed?
  3. @Ahmed. I like what you've done. Can I ask how these mods/upgrades affect your insurance cover/premium?
  4. If it's the "Continue" screen when you switch on just ignore it as it disappears after a few seconds and the Sat Nav screen appears and is normal. If it's some other screen on about profiles or similar then others have had it and it had to be reset at the dealer.
  5. I sat today in one 110GT at South Wales Car Show in Chepstow. Alpine Cardiff branch had one in green. I liked the interior and seating position. 1100kg sounds very interesting 😁 Exterior is like little Aston Martin. I’m going to book a test drive. Seems to be a great car.

  7. Interesting John & Chris. I know that Octopus have a somewhat cheaper tariff than 'Octopus GO' which I am on and gives me 9p per unit from 0030 to 0430. However, my understanding is that the 7.5p tariff is only available for those cars whose manufacturers have signed up to Octopus' clever smart arrangement, which Lexus have not. Chris, I also export excess solar, but am paid 70.71p per Kwh. We were lucky enough to get on original 'feed-in' tariff.
  8. NX450H+ has decided the profile cannot syncs, try to log on but upper case button on screen not highlighted. This is the 2nd time this has happened. Last time I had to change password!
  9. Hi everyone, I'm Chris and I am a new member with a 2023 UX250h which I have had for about 6 weeks now. It is a world away from my previous car which was a BMW 330 diesel coupe which I had for 17 years and did 157,000 miles on the clock. The UXis so smooth and comfortable compared with the BMW and I am really enjoying it. I'm still working my way through the complexities of the infotainment system but there is one thing that is really irritating me. This is the blue tick box screen that appears when you switch everything on asking me to confirm something which I haven't bothered to read. Is there a way of permanently removing this irritation?
  10. May 5 charge EV 48.8 EV/AC 47.3 12 months 4500 miles
  11. That YouTube video, complete with clicking relays, looks like classic symptoms of a low battery voltage. If you have a multimeter, check the voltage at the battery both with the car off and when you're trying to start it. Anything much below 12V and you'll have issues. If you've managed to get it fully charged from an external source (mains charger like a CTEK etc) and you're still having difficulty, and the battery voltage won't stay above 12V for more than a couple of days, you've either got a parasitic drain on the battery, or the battery is kaput. If it's the battery, Tayna now do one which looks an exact replacement for the MK4 GS450h
  12. My Tesco gold quote is £1042, NFU £1245, we are certainly being stung because of the thieving tow rags, good luck Ian, be interested to know the Chris Knott results? One Call insurance seem competitive, but again all Lloyds backed policies I suspect?
  13. I received my Tesco renewal a little earlier than I was expecting. Last years full year equivalent (bought the RX in Nov replacing a 2013 model) was ~£750. The renewal is £1150. Not due until the 30th, so have time to get other quotes. Will be trying Chris Knott and NFU at least. Worst case is the Tesco one, I wont bother changing to the Coop quote i have for just £50 - not worth the hassle.
  14. I also noticed maybe conjecture at a guess if I drive the car daily (I.e everyday) it seems to start fine but twice I let it sit for two days without using it came back and was struggling to start up and took 5 minutes of turning on and off before with 1-2 breaks between before would start.
  15. grrrrr so if none of Halford’s fit I will have to buy Lexus one. I also noticed maybe conjecture at a guess if I drive the car daily (I.e everyday) it seems to start fine but twice I let it sit for two days without using it came back and was struggling to start up and took 5 minutes of turning on and off before with 1-2 breaks between before would start. Just for the benefit of others that have not seen my recent posts this exactly what my cars doing re YouTube video and the YouTube guy said a battery replacement fixed the issue. My current cars 450A capacity battery currently giving me 350A capacity with car off (and no electric load on it?) I hear you I’m trying to take the easiest route without paying for diagnosis and having my car off the road when I need it for work on Monday to Friday.
  16. Too true Ronnie, I’ve been doing research on the internet, and it’s surprising how many insurance companies are owned by the big boys in the industry. One thing I have found out to my surprise, is the Comparison sites are also owned by insurance companies, so not as neutral as you may think. It is proving more difficult to identify who owns what in that sector, not so ‘ Simple’s’ excuse the pun 🤣😂 The Lexus is an expensive bit of kit, so I think I will bite the bullet, take the hit and go with NFU!
  17. …..Maintenance Service Record’s for my Lexus LS 400: I want you all to imagine you are standing, looking down a long, wide, open plan office. row after row of utility desk’s, at least 6 wide, disappearing into the distance, all manned by both male and female, uniformed, service personnel all poring over document’s using magnifying glasse’s with the buzz of continuous activity and whispered conversation’s.. the air feels tense and is a haze of blue cigarette smoke (☹️). the time ? 13.00 hour’s, the date of the month ? the 5th, the month ? May, the year ? 1944 ! your location ? RAF Medmenham, Central Interpretation Unit ( CIU ), Buck’s. the RAF nerve centre for Photo Reconnaissance. startled, you, and many of the Photo Interpreter’s, look up at the window as first a Mosquito PR ( max 396mph ), V12 Merlin engine’s screaming at full throttle, as it accelerate’s down the runway promptly followed by a Spitfire PR Mk X1 ( max 362 mph ). both totally unarmed- sheer speed was their only protection ! both flew at 30 to 35.000 feet. neither aircrew would have known ( or, indeed, even any of the RAF staff ) why they were tasked with endless sortie’s to snap the French coast and inland area’s, day after day….🤔🤫 fast forward to today, 5th May 2024 ( 80 year’s later ! - I was day’s old, blissfully unaware of all this frenetic activity, fast asleep in my cot, I remember 😳 ) and you will all, shortly, become ( Lexus Owner’s Club ), civilian Photographic Interpreter ( PI’s ) ! how ? because I am about to reveal the detailed Maintenance Service Record’s of my Lexus LS 400 ! I just know you, like me, will all scrutinise all the recorded details like date’s, mileage, continuity, sequence’s, dealer’s, garage’s, workshop’s etc…..but remember, luckily, for us, no D-Day next month ! 🙂 voila….. anthony ps: for £ 4.495 - what ? pps: actually, your location would have been Daneshill House, Medmenham - I don’t believe it was near an operational airfield RAF base - call it author’s licence ? 😳
  18. Had 4 Accords. The last being a 2008 latest shape. Great looking even now. This model had an atrocious appetite for rear brake pads and seized calipers. When the model was discontinued in around 2014. Honda didn’t have a suitable saloon. That’s when I got the Lexus bug and bought an IS 300h. I wish they still available with the refinement of the ES.
  19. Yeah, as the canbus tin plates are just, errr, tin plates they won’t be Thatcham approved and therefore no insurer will take them into account - this is the same as the Ghost type immobilisers - they’re not categorised under the Thatcham system. Unless EVERY single at-risk Lexus is protected AND theft rates go down AND insurers and the press and the public realise ANY Lexus is at no more risk than another manufacturers car we’re ALL stuck with insurers pricing in the high likelihood of theft, together with the resultant knock on effect on resale values. The only way that’ll happen is via Lexus’s ‘imminent’ solution (stop laughing at the back) protecting every affected car in the UK.
  20. Hi , before i end up spending loads of money on 4 brand new tyres and powdercoating the rims in a different colour , is there anyone that might be interested in my wheels ? Forged HRE P40SC 19” No cracks , scratches or buckles on them , been powdercoated 2 years ago in matte black and they look perfect spec is 9.5j rears and 8.5j fronts , ET40 all around reason for sale , wanna go 18”
  21. I’d disagree it’s a waste of time harassing your dealer - the more flak they get at a local level (loudly, front and centre of showroom, weekends preferably) the more likely it’ll be passed up to the ivory tower that is Lexus UK’s anti theft team (unless, as I suspect, they all left their laptops in their now-absent company cars a few months ago).
  22. Mmm, yes I can believe that in this day and age! The companies you relate to are Equity Red Star, and Highway, are Lloyds backed companies. That means the insurer lays off your risk between several insurance companies within the Lloyds so no one company takes the full hit of any claim. This process can take longer to resolve as they all need to talk with each other. I know ERS do get reasonable reviews, Highway, not sure, but thanks for the heads up .
  23. Nothing Surprises me there..Should have called it Your Way My Way Or The Highway.... C.E.O. Possible ***** Turpin..!!
