  1. Past hour
  2. Car is inside garage with double electric doors. Today we have a power cut. Fortunately not planning to drive today. Is going to be a scorcher.
  3. Civic perhaps? I’ve also had a few Honda - before moving to Lexus in 2016. They are great cars, well engineered and beautifully built. The interior materials aren’t as plush as a Lexus, but then the prices aren’t as ‘plush’ either! I’d have another Honda, and will likely end up with a Jazz at some stage once I’m drawing my pension 😇.
  4. ….wow ! 😃 - 8.37 this morning, I am now granted The Explorer Badge ! Lexus Owner’s Club Suit’s - thank you - another badge to be worn with pride! I remember, when I was a Cub, 12, ( junior Boy Scout’s ) I was obsessed with the range of colourful ‘achievement badges’ to be worn on one’s sleeve’s of the dark green jumper ( remember those ? ). the best badge was for First Aid, bright white cross on bright red, triangular, backckground ! when Arkela was not looking I pinched that badge, and a handful of other’s, got my mum to sew them on both sleeve’s ( 😲) - no one ever said a word, not even mum ! ironically, have just attended a 2 day First Aid ( Driver’s ) Training Day and am now a fully qualified, certificated First Aider - what goe’s around, come’s around ! ( no bl**dy badge, though, wish I’d kept the old Cub one ! ☹️ ). anthony
  5. Richard I saw the the Video that is what happend to me exactly, its the battery I bought my car 3 years ago from tunbridge wells I live in yorkshire the car had been on the forecourt 3 months I picked the car up on the saturday and the car never moved till Monday. Thats when i had the sound Tunbridge wells where ok the contacted Lexus Hull and told me to take it there and they would fit it. The fitter told me that clicking is the relay that as not got enough voltage to set the startup proccedure in motion I have not had a problem since as John as remarked those batteries last a long time if they are kept charged but if you let them run down they will fail and let you down. Just one point have you checked that the Battery conections are clean and tight.
  6. Today
  7. Is your car a mk3 or mk4? Sami's battery dimensions work for the Mk3 but I believe don't for the Mk4. I'll say it again - I don't believe a Panasonic battery (which cost you what? Not far off £300) would only last 3 years - mine is Panasonic and is coming up to 10 years old. Don't forget the heat sensor and the gas vent tubes.
  8. Thanks for information on the battery dimensions I’m gonna try and see if one of Halfords batteries fits for my car gs 450h as Lexus fitted that Panasonic one and it appears it maybe low after three years in the car.
  9. ….thank you Malcolm, wondered when you would pick up on that Island !🙄 - well done ! let me clarify the ‘ all off-shore oil rig’s’ listing for those Member’s (+ non-member’s ) feeling left out of being able to purchase my Lexus LS400: are you ‘domiciled’ in Great Britain, holding a gb / uk Passport and work on an off-shore oil / gas rig located in the North Sea, Irish Sea or North Atlantic? good new’s - you would be able to purchase my Lexus LS400 for continuing use in Great Britain ! anthony
  10. ….ISGSLS IRL, thank you, you are so kind - really appreciate your note. so sad we could not swap your Lexus LS600h for my Lexus LS400 + cash your way ! 🙄😃😃 anthony 😃
  11. And the Isles of Scilly ? Malc
  12. ….Malcolm - I just wanted to say thank you for your very recent post regarding geographical area’s that should be added to my new (2nd) Term and Condition of Sale of my Lexus LS 400 (😳). in 36 post’s, now 37, you are the first Member to have challenged / questioned any of my contribution’s to date - 5.5 day’s from placing my original For Sale ad for my Lexus LS 400 ! as a now, established Lexus Owner’s Club Author, with over 1.200+ View’s in 5.5 day’s (😳🙄), I alway’s welcome any comment’s, critique’s and question’s ! …..an old ‘git, I am proud, at 80, to have been granted a promotion to ‘Apprentice’ - I shall wear The Badge with such pride. I shall continue to endeavour to work hard to be granted the ultimate badge of honour - Grand Master, before I sell my Lexus LL 400 ! ( 😲 ). anthony
  13. Anthony, as one of those 'potential purchasers from overseas' who enquired about your car, thank you for the updates during last week, and good luck with the sale
  14. I had an Islander green 2002 Honda Stream 2.0 Auto. Great car. The kids loved the back seats and their own air con. Don’t know why they didn’t sell more. You didn’t see many in the road. Traded it in for a 2.4 auto accord but the road tax and mpg on that got too much so I got a Lexus CT. I would have another Honda if they did something other than an SUV.
  15. ….🙄 thank you Malcolm, ‘ I wondered when you would notice that, Wilson’ ( Dad’s Army 👨‍🚀, remember ? ). a new, additional, term and condition has now been listed concerning the sale of my Lexus LS 400: all interested Lexus Owner’s Club Member’s that reside in the following gb area’s (in addition to mainland gb ) are most welcome to contact me regarding the purchase of my, now illustrated, immaculate Lexus LS 400. these listed gb area’s are: IOW, IOM, Hebrides, Mull, Arran, Orkney’s, Shetland, Sky, Sheppey, Lundy, Skoholm, Skomer, Ramsey, Bardsey, Anglesey, Fleet, Great Cumbrae, Bute, Kintyre, Rhinn’s of Islay, Colonsay, Scarba, Garvellachs, Shuna, Luing, Kerrera, Iona, Ulva, Muck, Eigg, Rum, Canna, Stroma, Crowlin, Soay, Wiay, Scalpay, Rona, Ramsay, Crowlin, Longa, Kishorn, Pabay, Longay, Lewis, Harris, North Uist, South Uist, Barra, Ewe, Gruinard, Summer, Priest, Soyea, Martih, Horse, Oldany, Handa, Rabbit, Neeve, Farne, Holy, Coqurt, Reard’s, Horsey, Mersey, Thorne, Brownsea, Sully and all off-shore oil / gas rig’s. Malcolm, you list N.I in your suggestion list - unfortunately, for you : 1. this is an oversea’s kingdom 2. N.I is in the United Kingdom whereas Great Britain is only England, Scotland (🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿) and Wale’s - gotcha ! 😂🤣😅 anthony

  17. In our immediate family, we collectively have 4 Honda's in our "fleet" and not one of them has ever suffered a problem. None of them have ever failed a MOT (albeit one doesn't need one) nor ever had an advisory. With the oldest now being 11 years old on 80K miles, I'd say that was impressive. I feel pretty sure all of them would easily be more than capable of 100K or far greater. You'd really struggle to beat Honda for reliability. Way back in the nineties I had a Honda powered Rover 600 and I remember passing that on at 118K miles and the lad who took it over racked it up to 187|K before it finally failed its M|OT on rust. Again, till then no problems whatsoever.
  18. It does take a few miles so I’d keep going but I can’t remember what mine said on the dash while it was doing it.
  19. I must admit I didn't get a chance to phone my dealer as I suggested I would, but I will fire off an email later today and ask for an update. Having received my insurance renewal notice and with the premium increasing (to the penny) by exactly 100% I'm now more inclined to ask what the hell is going on. Darwin Insurance by the way and they are clearly applying greed inflation and in the process have taken on a new demeanour which I sensed last year and when I should have then told them to shove it. Curiously, my home insurers have gone one step further and upped their premium by 118% Cheerio RIAS I'm leaving you after 13 years and having never made a claim!
  20. @Malc1 Honda Stream 2.0L automatic 2002
  21. Common problem - it's not the switch it's the mirrors. The up and down movement fails due to the linkage of mirror movement to engaging reverse gear. They thought it was a good idea to aid visibility while reversing. Up/down adjustment is hardly ever needed, I've easily managed to live 8 years without it. The alternative for perfection is 2 new mirror units at several hundred pounds each (plus fitting) and unless is disconnected from reverse selection will likely fail again.
  22. Yesterday
  23. Looking at the latest comments on the article Lexus have finally fessed up that there's no updates and they're still working on it, so for now at least it's seemingly pointless contacting your local dealer.
  24. I read a few times today my car has some kind of ‘ready mode’ it does a system check everytime switched on so theoretically I guess if the 12 volt low that would cause an issue I guess.
  25. Are top bearings covered under warranty? My 69 plate UX is making a similar creaking noise on full steering
  26. Chris, hello, are you still there? Your keyboard is not typing anything.
  27. The YouTube guy with the same problem as me said a battery change fixed everything even though his original 12 volt battery appeared fine (which mine appears fine as well) and my car friend has suggested that 350amps left on my battery for my hybrid car seems low. So that settles it I’ll buy a new battery. it’s been 3 years since I last changed it and Lexus did say to me it would last 2-3 years.
  28. It's not quite as practical as an RCF, but depends what you need really. I go shopping in it, I've been on week long holidays with it and had room to spare. You get a front and rear boot so it's more practical than an MX-5 or S2000.
