if it is the same type of system as what I had years ago in a flat... always used to worry me as my son was new born and I was always worried about carbon dioxide poisoning from the boiler.

I reckon a Plumber will simply turn round and say "you need a new system mate"

Do you feel competent to fix it on your own - if not call in a corgi registered gas fitter.

If you do then we need more info to diagnose the fault.

Has the pilot light blown out? it was very windy over the weekend.

Has the fuse gone?

Has the lockout or high limit thermostat tripped?

Also try and find a web site for the manufacturer. These days most of them have PDF format files that you can download to assist you. They may also list local agents and stockists.

You could also try the thermo coupling as this is what kept going on mine ,only £7.00 so worth a shot .It sits in the flame of the pilot light and if the pilot light blows out for any reason it cools down and switches of the gas .
