Fixing New Reg Plates

I'm getting new reg plates made up and would rather fix them with adhesive pads than drill through the new plates to use the screw fittings. However, I've noticed that the original front number plate appears to be curve outwards from the screw fixings (as if it has been screwed in too tight). If the front bumper part where the plate attaches is actually curved then I think I'll need to use screws as the sticky pads might not be enough.

Has anyone else used the adhesive pads to attach their number plates? The last thing I want is more chips on the bonnet (caused by reg plate flying off on the motorway :winky: )

From DVLA website

Are stick-on number plates legal?

No, number plates must meet the British Standard requirements and we are not aware of any self-adhesive number plates that are able to meet these requirements

I think that is talking about the thin film ones. My plates are to BS standards - I've just fixed them with sticky pads rather than screws.
