Rx400h Executive Ltd Edition

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I am new to this site and I have just bought an RX400h Executive Ltd Edition, Looks a very nice car, picking it up next week, First one I noticed Had a power sunroof memory steering wheel and front and rear parking sensors.

Anyway Is there Anything I need to know or look out for, Never had one of these before.

It is a one owner car, with a full lexus service history.....

Thanks..... :phone:

Get the Battery checked (the little one that powers the basics, not the big traction Battery that powers the wheels). If it's old and failing then you'll know about it when you least expect it. Also have the brakes checked, they're liable to seize what with being used so rarely. The wheels are prone to corrosion. Other than that, they're generally a very reliable car.

Thanks for that will do, Not sure what you mean by this though "Liable to seize what with being used so rarely."

Hybrids use regen when slowing down so mechanical brakes don't get used as often

Most of the time while braking, the car will charge the traction Battery from the wheels. So the discs and pads sit there doing nothing. Occasionally you'll notice it switch from regenerative to traditional braking, the car will seem to lose a bit of braking ability, it's a bit odd at first but you get used to it.

I too would like to know what to look out for. I am in the market for one of these. The prices have gone down to a affordable limit for me so I am taking the plunge. I owned an Rx400h before so I am semi aware of some of the things but I would liek to learn from existing owners on what to look out for when getting this. The things listed so far may be personal experiences of people while they owned the car.

Anything that definitely is prone to break with these?

I am looking to spend about 16k on a 2009 model.

Thanks

Well, there is a 58 plate, Feb 09 Exec Ltd Edition (dark blue, cream leather) for sale at Lexus Southampton (Hedge End) for less than £13k, with 101K miles on the clock. It has a full Lexus service history.

I can recommend it... it was mine until 2 weeks ago! Best car I have ever owned.
