Sorry about this question as I bet it's been asked more then once, but I was just wondering about 2008/09 ISFs iPhone capabilities...can I 'plug it in' and select tracks via the touchscreen etc? I guess you can use Bluetooth to make phone calls?

Sadly not.

It get's even worse if you have a later model iPhone as they have no headphone jacks.

So basically, the IPhone is good for holding down petrol receipts 

I've just switched from Android to iPhone and one of my kids said "How you gonna play music in the Lexus?".  Ooooops.

Doesn't the next iPhone come with an adaptor to allow you to connect headphones through the lightening port? 

My ISF has an iPod adaptor fitted, sure it could be changed to be a lightening cable relatively easily.  Not sure if it was a dealer option but it's fully integrated to the stereo

Maybe I'm missing something but why don't you just use bluetooth and stream music that way....that's what I've been doing. 

There's also a usb connection in my armrest (maybe this is only for later models) but you can also connect it that way. 

I'm guessing music streaming via Bluetooth is a facelift ISF thing?!?! I know my budget won't stretch to one of the later models so hoping to find out what an earlier ISF can and can't do re an iPhone!

There is a piece of hardware you can buy that converts your CD drive to your

Iphone and play your music from there.

i had mine installed when I recently brought the car. It costs around 200 pounds to install.

I just got one of these - really pleased as I can can Bluetooth connect to it and the car's tel system simultaneously! 

Ive got it just protruding from the centre arm rest and as this device has 3 buttons. Play, next and prev, it is simple to use
