SRS airbag system warning

Hi all

Any help would be appreciated.

Was attempting to tap into the rear view mirror. Checked power supply  etc and was connected up. Used the brown and blue wires coming from the back of the connector. Initial checking everything worked. On final install, nothing worked and now I have a 'check srs airbag system' warning coming up and the heater panel not working nor is the rear parking camera.

Any help would be appreciated.

You could have blown a fuse and could be the reason for the warning lights.

I believe you should use the Blue wire (pin 1) which is switched 12v and Violet (pin 2) which is ground.

The blue wire is connected back to a 10 A fuse labelled IG1 No. 3 - you have probably blown this which is located within the cabin fusebox.

 

you won't have the permanent 12 v feed on pin 6 (pink wire) as that is only fitted to vehicles with a garage door opener (US vehicles).

Thanks very much. I did use the correct pins for the connection. Having checked, I have blown the 10A fuse but unfortunately I don't have any spare micro fuses. So will wait until tomorrow and buy some and see where I go. Guessing I may have shorted while sticking the pins in as there is little to no space between the pin slots!!!

there is normally some spare fuses in the fuse box

have a look on the fuse diagram for their location.

Thanks for all the help here.

Got the fuse (and some spares) but was unable to get the old fuse out using the fuse popper bought from Halfords. It seems Lexus have spaced them so tight that the tool does not go between two fuses to extract. Had to then go back and buy the smallest needle nosed pliers I could find. Even then it would not go in between the fuses but did somehow manage to get it out. It would seem that using pliers does cause a bit of damage to the micro fuse top. Once new fuse installed, all is well: aircon dash working and the srs warning notice gone. Thanks again.

How to others take out the fuse on the Is300h? Specific tool would be greatly appreciated.

Never looked on my Lexus but on a Honda we had there was a fuse extractor tool in the fuse box - just wondering if there is a similar one in the Lexus fuse box?

there should be a removal tool in the fuse box cover

check inside the fuse box covers on both of the fuse boxes

I'm almost certain there isn't an extractor tool in the passenger footwell as the cover is so tight. It sits flush with the top of the fuses.

May well be in the other...
