My boot will not open using the key fob(s), pressing the button above the number plate, or the boot release button in the drop down cabin controls. Fortunately it can be opened using the key. When you turn the key you hear the release noise which I assume is a little electric motor - presumably fuse OK..

Anyone had this problem? Any suggestions?

John

I have a GS459H with the same problem. I am trying to get a centre of the boot switch, been told this MIGHT cure it.Also there is a micro switch inside the boot on the left side which may need replacing it is about 8" by4",held on by plastic clips. I have a spare one for sale if you wish.

Have you checked that you haven't accidentally pressed the button in the glove box that disables the boot opening system resulting in exactly what you describe. It's on page 30 off the owners manual.

Thanks Christopher.

No I hadn't checked and yes I had accidentally pressed the button. I have never used this feature and I think my Mk2 GS had it too and I never used it there either.

What the manual doesn't tell you though is that whilst in normal operation you can open the boot with the car locked, if you open using the key as I did late last night the alarm goes off.

Will this work for you too Rob?
