LS600 from Ireland in KMH

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I just bought LS600h from Ireland and every thing is in KMH.

My speedo is in KMH only and no MPH ( see pic please )

Lexus says I need complete new cluster / dash and programming. Is this true ?

other option I have in mind is to take cluster apart and just fit MPH stickers.

Any one know how to take cluster / dash out ?

Thanks

You will need a cluster with MPH speed . Also if you want the correct mileage to show on the odo you will need to program the eeprom probably 93C46/56.

This is doable if you have some electronic knowledge and a programmer such as a Mcumall 4x4.

If Lexus supply you with the unit it will be 0 miles and they annotate the service book to that effect .

This is not for the amateur unless you have skills .

It looks like you remove the 2 recessed screws at the top of the surround then pull the bottom which is clipped in, be gentle as replacement is around £140.00!

Once the front bezel is loose disconnect any wiring to it and remove, there are normally 4 instrument cluster retaining bolts usually 10mm which should release the cluster enough to get the electrical connectors out.

I would normally suggest disconnecting the Battery before doing anything like this but being a hybrid things may be different.

I don’t think there is any legal requirement to change to MPH, the mileage on mine has been stated in KMs a few times on the MOT even though it was converted at import.

that dial seems expensive for what it is  - I remember many years buying from the same company dial kits for pajero imports - the pack used to contain speedo, rev, gear and 4x4 indicator and they used to be around £30
