Taking NX300h from UK to Granada

My NX has the usual LED‘s. Would be great to just go one day again. The last time I went with a car to the UK was in 2010 with my RX 400h. That time I did nothing with the lights as it was only for 2 days.

Drive and park your car so the light from your car lights up a wall and see if the light beam on low lights is flat. If that is the case you have OK lights for both left- and right-hand driving. If your light beam is higher on the left side (car is right hand drive?) the oncoming in Europe will be blinded and the lights are not legal.

Experiment done. Looks Ok to me. So no stickers and stuff for a trip to the UK?

Looks like the low light on our car.  Seems OK to me.

Very good. So the only challenge will be to operate parking gates when driving alone 😉

I hadn't heard of this either. I always used to find it irritating putting those big GB car stickers on the back of the car when travelling in Europe. Some people left them on permanently; I always took them off when I got home.

It seems from this website that what has changed is that you can't have new number plates made since the start of this year with the EU flag on, which makes sense. Existing plates aren't affected while driving in the UK.

When driving in the EU, (except possibly Spain!?) you don't need one of the big GB stickers if your number plates have a union flag above the letters GB. But you can't have any of the other UK country flags which would be legal if driving in the UK. And you also must have GB, rather than UK, ENG, SCO, CYM or one of the other options that are legal in the UK.

So a neater option (unless you want to buy new number plates) would be a small union jack sticker to cover the EU flag. Much less obtrusive and legal (I think) in both the UK and in the EU. Here's a link where you can buy them for 99p. My only slight doubt is whether it might be illegal to put any kind of sticker on your number plate. Anyone know?

Or you just do this (Photo made today 🙂

I'm thinking about getting one of these as I think they look better than the black on white huge GB stickers... although I am aware that they are not legal.

Does anyone else use one of these?

If they are not legal Daniel (and I do not know) why would you choose to use them ?

I have been travelling twice a year to and from Andalucia and the French and Spanish Police do not take prisoners.
