Well I'm 3 weeks into my latest RX having previously had a 2005 SEL (air suspension went belly up at 61K miles). P/exed 5 years ago for a 2012 Advance (Lexus Bolton). Brilliantly reliable but always had an interior rattle  somewhwere that I couldn't remedy. Now into a 2018 with 36K on the clock in blue with light interior and opening pan roof (again Lexus Bolton). So lost £9.5k over 5 years against the latest version but oh boy haven't they gone up in price never mind the impact of higher road tax at £510.00. But having toyed with the idea of a Range Rover and Porsche there was always something about the uniqueness of a Lexus that drew me back. Apart from the air con which needs a regass and a few marks that I'll sort out in due course she's a beauty and feels like a step up in class, which I guess you'd expect. My old RK was so tidy that it's up for sale with Lexus Bolton at a £4.5k premium over the p/x price. Hey ho. there you go. Oh and for the first time I've taken a 3 year Lexus service plan having used a very trustworthy independent across the Penninesup to now..Time will tell if that proves to be the right decision.

Congrats on your new purchase Eric, I'm sure you've made the right decision - the 4th generation RX is pretty darn good. Please let us see some pictures when you have the chance 🙂

Congratulations - pics please!

Why does your air con need a regas? its only 4 years old and probably doesnt. Leave the air con on all the time and dive into the settings to change the flow / eco settings as that makes it blow less air out

Yes just been over to Leeds and back and the air con appears to have come to life. Playing around with a few different settings seems to have done the trick (or to be honest the wife did!).

I'm useless at trying to upload pictures but will ask the wife (again) for help although the car is full of dead flies and such so there may be a delay. Now where's that sponge.

Yes reading the handbook whilst trundling along she managed to 'sort' it. I'm more of a 'well that doesn't work like it should' then some weeks later pick up the info and find out well if only I'd known that before.

Always remember being under our first car a 1967 Triumph Spitfire thinking what does this bolt do......and out came the oil.......twas the sump plug. Guess I've not moved on from that experience but never too late to learn.

Very funny Eric. A wonderful Scouse approach to life.

Oh my goodness, please do tell me that you were NOT an engineer, designer or other significant contributor to either of the Blue Streak or TSR2 Projectsđź––

Merseyside by boundary but Lancashire born. Since they reorganised the regions now an adopted 'scouser'. Having worked with many of my Liverpool friends over the years they have a sense of humour that is difficult to match and some of their self deprecating humour must have rubbed off.  And being a Man U fan I have to be a little diplomatic when travelling into the City. Thankfully for many in the world of engineering spent my working life in commerce where you could blag your way out of a tight situation.
