Child vseats

A booster seat needs a flat surface to sit on. The middle seat in your car is basically a hump. Dependant on your child's age and height you could get away from using a booster seat.

I'm assuming there would be two other rear seat occupants. If so they would act as side protection.

I suggest you sit the child on the centre rear seat and see how the seat belt fits. If it sits on the child's neck then no way sit the child there.

Booster seats are polystyrene so you could actually sculpture the base so it fits the hump of the middle of the rear seat. I've done that in the past and I'm a doting great grandad.

I have been a grandad taxi for a few years. The littlest one is borderline nearly to a booster move. Vlad makes the correct point though legislation keeping it all legal it is down to the size of the child their are height requirements and if they come within that you don't need anything. Boosters as you know are to let them see a bit more and to be more comfortable. You will find the middle seat is usually convex and they like the boosters to be on the outer seats they are bit less convex and are behind a seat presumably less chance of getting thrown through windscreen.
