Display Screen protector

Recommended Posts

Picked up my 450+ last month.

So far so good and I was well prepared having kept an eye on this forum for the last year or so. Information has been great.

Perhaps you can help me with the following question. My display screen has a multitude of small scratches on it, which are mostly invisible except in the right light and with the screen off.  It is as though someone cleaned it with grit in the cloth.

I can see that there is a film protecting the screen. It is very well fitted but visible by the two circles around the temperature knobs. My question is should this have been removed at delivery or is it a more permanent fixture to protect the glass?  I am reluctant to remove the film until I have an answer and my dealership has so far not come up with one.

Any thoughts?

Yes it should have been removed. Mine was accidentally left on and caused a number of screen touch issues. It's not a screen protector so remove it.

I removed the factory-installed screen protector soon after collecting my NX350h over 18 months ago and it has been "naked" ever since. So far, no scratches or fine lines on it (and I do wipe it clean regularly) - famous last words!

You may be aware that there are after-market screen protectors available from the likes of amazon but in my opinion they spoil the look of the display.

Be careful with what you use to wipe the screen. Even micrfibre towels can leave small scratches. Use something extremely soft like a bald wipe - link below. Never ever tumble dry a cleaning or polishing cloth as it stiffens the fibres making it more likely to scratch
