Upgrading To Is300......

Okay people, have decided I am going to sell off the Z4 and IS200 and get myself a new IS300 with Nav and "parking sensors".

There appear to be a host of new options including an "intergrated phone solution" which is appealing to me - does anyone have any experience of this?

Also, are there any other options I should look at adding while I'm specing the car?

Thanks

Iain

Gosh, all these questions.

The Beemer - well love the car but the whole BM experience has left me with a bitter taste in the mouth. The dealers (compared to Lexus Hatfield in any case) are shocking. Warranty work took ages to sort out (three week waiting time for workshop slots?????) and everytime you left one of their dealers you felt like they screwing you.

IS300 - seems like the logical step and I get all the toys.......

Normally I would agree with you, the Z4 would be an "upgrade". However I purchased the IS200 and really have loved it. It is such a sorted car and the dealer service is so good.

Financially it's a good chance to cash out of the z4 before the secondhand values take a pasting from the new Boxster and the winter. Also having a car like the 3.0 z4 as a road car is getting more and more pointless in this country. Insurance costs are rocketing and points on my licence an ever increasing worry. In a car that can do 155+mph it's hard to keep it to 80mph on the motorway and impossible to keep to 60 on the A roads.

So the plan - Lexus IS300 for the motorway cruises and commuting (when necessary), and something for trackdays??? Maybe a late 90's Elise.....

There appear to be two kits - not exactly sure which is which at the minute, but the top one I have asked for (which has voice recognition / dialing and interchangerable cradles for different phones) is £600 ish apparently.

Also it mutes the stereo and diverts the call through the front speakers.

I asked today and was quoted 350 for Bluetooth phone kit (lexus manufactured). That includes fitting. I will get probably nokia one for about 75 quid (ck-7w) and fit it myself. It will mute the radio and can be connected to go thru speakers. You can buy diffrent cradles too - only to nokia phones (not sure how much are those). Some cradles will require a separate aerial - about 15 quid.

The one Ianis asked for is probably factory fitted - maybe is integrated and has a separate handset or so...

Anyway - too expensive for me for a lexus one.
