How Many Key Presses To Lock The Doors?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just got my new RX yesterday...! Great fun, and I'm trying to work my way through the 450 page manual...

Sorry... this is a bit of a stupid question... but how many times do you need to press the 'lock' button on the key to lock the doors?

The manual seemed to be a bit "translated from the Japanese" and I wasn't sure.

On my previous car, it was one press to lock, and a second press to deadlock and arm the alarm.

Is it just one press to do everything on the RX? Or more than one?

thanks,

Richard

Press once for locking twice for dead-lock

Does the car still alarm even if it is not deadlocked?

How much extra security does deadlocking provide?

Also, what happens if you press 3 times by accident? Does it then go back into single lock mode?

:driving: Hi, alarm armed with first press regardless of further presses, second press dead locks doors: deadlocking prevents inside or outside door openning, so don't deadlock your friends/family inside as they will not get out. Deadlock prevents theives from openning the doors even in the event of window breakage. hope this helps. :winky:

Does this apply to a Mk1 GS300?? Don't know if they have a deadlock facility??

Tony.
