Hid Upgrade

Im thinking of installing one of the many HID kits available to my IS200.

Does anyone now if both the low beam and high beam can be converted and if so can you see any problems in doing so or should I stik to converting just the low beam like you see on most OEM fitted?

You probably only spend 20% of the time using High Beams so why bother

Stick to low beams only, means you only have to change one set when MOT time comes and get some nice super whites for the full beams

Why do you need to change them when it comes to MOT time? I would have thought as long as they are correctly aligned there would not be a problem. Can't see anyone checking what kind of bulbs you're using.

Have always understood that for HID bulbs to be legal you need, Auto Leveling and Washer jets.

But Im sure most MOT stations only check the allignment

Classic case of when it suits the coppers to quote European law as there is no UK law relating to the use of HIDs specifically. They draw less than 55W so a technically legal. Like you say though and as I would have thought, they would only check alignment

I would recommend the ones prolex sells good quality good price

takes about I hour to fit and tidy up. I would recommend about 5-6k temp.

You only need low beam cant use on main beam coz it takes time to warm up so u wouldn’t be able to flash any one hope this helps :D
