40k Service

Recommended Posts

Booked my car in for the 40k service today at Lexus Sheffield. Ive noticed in the service schedule that the brake fluid and coolant should be changed. Will this be included in the £355 they quoted me, or will it be extra for these???

Cheers.

Is a shame you didn't go for (or was offered) the pre-paid servicing schedule and get 2 years (2 services) for £460 all in. Something which I've sorted out for my 60 & 70K services.

Back to your question though, I'm pretty sure I paid roughly that much for my 40K service and the price included the coolant and brake fluid change.

p.s. Just noticed your a Gold LOC member. Did they give you any form of discount ?

Thanks for that. I forgot to ask what it includes to be honest. If it says it in the schedule, then I suppose it will be done then. I also mentioned that my stereo has been playing up lately, and they said they'll have a replacement ready for me!! :D

£300 is still expensive.

I paid about £180 for mine in Lexus Stockport! NO EDITED - paid £252 ! :whistling:

In fact I've never paid more than that for the major service, even the minor servicing is about £120 !!!

The only biggie is the 60k which I've been quoted about £500.

You could save a load of cash and book it into Stockport, nice drive over Woodhead as well, even with the cost of petrol your still quids in!

Ask them to fax you over an itiniary - are they changing the aircon filter? They usually do on a major service and I think they charge about £50 for this alone! If you do have Gold, have a look at the discount we get on Puravent filters, pay about £20 if I remember - I have one and they're great.
