House On The Market

Recommended Posts

Well, after plenty of deliberating, we've finally put our house on the market. It was a tough decision as we love it here....but, we're likely to only move a few streets away :D

Had one lot of viewers this weekend and are hoping the estate agents can pull the stops out to get more through the door! On the plus side, it's the tidiest our house has been since we moved in

...Anyone else going through this at the moment, or are we the only suckers for punishment?!

About 10 months ago for me, ooooooh the hassle of the estate agents and the solicitors, but great when it final completes and you get the keys to your new place!

Yep - ours has been on the market for a month now - loads of viewings but generally the punters haven't put theirs on the market, or haven't had an offer made on their house yet - flipping frustrating

Plus the house we really wanted, that had no chain and been on the market for 6 months has just been snapped up too - grrrr

Best of luck to you!

Better way in Scotland where there is none of the chain thing...as soon as you sign the missives it is legally binding. Can't understand why the English system can't change to something more sensible.

Blimey! We've found the ideal house, but can't put an offer in until we've sold ours - well, have been advised against it anyway. Not sure how anyone gets to buy though if everyone's waiting to sell their place!!!

Claire - we put in a full asking price offer on the one we have now - ahead of selling our previous property - and then used the survey to lever the price down a tad - that way we secure our new house without any hassle - was a few years back though so perhaps the market place has changed since ...

You've all done better than me!

Place went on the market end of Jan and had the sum total of TWO viewings. Time to change agent I think!

in oct we had taylors.........by jan we had about 6 viewings done by boys who looked like they just left carphonewarehouse!!! You know the type......."this is the bathroom"---er yes, i can flippin well see that richardhead.!!!

changed to a local in feb had lots of viewings----house is excellent according to everybody, spot on price, but area is too "chavvy". And because there is a glut of similar 3bed houses in MK people have loads to choose from, therefore buyers market. We`ll be lucky if we get 1 viewing a week at the mo, which is irritating as it takes 3 hours to clean the house up for one viewing that may or may not turn up :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk: :tsktsk:

if we`d have put the house on last july we`d have had no probs, but 2 months 2 late as per ruddy normal!!! :tsktsk:

Think we were a bit slow off the uptake too. I think there's a lot of competition for 3 bed places in our area <sigh>

Anyway, it's on the website now and we're waiting for the local papers to come out, so hopefully that'll spark some interest!
