is 160,000 a lot of miles for a sc400, will the engine last for another 50,000 miles? its in good condition and regularly maintained

Everything depemds on how it was driven and maintained before the 160,000 miles.

My 1992 SC400 had 135,000 on it when I bought it 3 months ago. Since then my buddy (a mechanic) and I have rebuilt/replaced what it needed. We replaced the Timing belt and water pump, etc. Shannon (my mechanic) says that while he was in the engine, he checked out everything that he could get to. He believes that this car is good for another 100,000 miles. I did get a folder of all the maintenance that the previous owner did while he had the SC400. Any way, the general impression is that these SC's engine and transmissions (auto) are particurlarly good and May run for more than 300,000 miles. It Must be regularly maintained, though.

160k is nothing at all, Lexus dealers still sell LS400's with that sort of mileage on their forecourts.

A friend of ours had an LS400 with 320k on it and Toyota Magazine did an article a few years back on a chap when his early LS reached 555,000.

I sold my first GS300 when it got to 177000 miles and was still running sweet as anything  :driving: My GS300 II has got 130000miles on and I'm not getting rid just yet :driving:  :driving:

I was gonna buy a 97 GS300 sport with 170,000 miles on it the other day from auction. The miles put me off but I might go back and have a look now cos it didn't sell. Was only bid at about £1700 too. Cheap as chips!!! :D
