with another couple and neither of us have been before.

Any central hotels you can recommend? Not after anything too flash (3* max). Any particular sights and especially bars/eateries that are authentic and must be experienced?

Any help appreciated

I recommend Bewleys Hotel in Ballsbridge. €99 per night. Really comfortable, 5 mins walk from city centre, secure underground carpark,

Also

In addition to GALLA 4 (excellent) suggestions

http://www.travelodge.ie currently selling rooms from €40 per night. There is no such thing as good value for room rates on weekends in Ireland. We all get married on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, so hotel rooms are always heavily booked at weekends.

You can also try www.wotif.com. and see if they have any value on offer.

Finally, there is a very good B&B beside the Stillorgan Park Hotel called the Priory. www.thepriorytownhouse.com

The guiness brewery does a good tour, an theres a great bar (proving you only want to drink guiness or soft drinks! :winky: ) at the top of it which has a good view of a lot of the city,

most bars in the temple bar region are good tho :D
