Stability Control - Is300

Having recently bought my 2003 Is300 (without an owners manual) I was wondering if the Traction/Stability Control warning light come on when the system is triggered. It has done in my previous Mercedes/Smart/Fords, but today after turning right at a junction the rear end stepped out of line by about a foot or so but no warning light came on, so I dont know if it was my driving skill in catching the slide or the car which did it for me........ or does it only get triggered in extreme situations?? thanks.

if the 300 is the same as the 200 the light comes on straight away but goes out as soon theres traction there.

The light on mine does not come on on slight loss of traction i.e wheel spin but if the car steps out of line the light does flash on and off accompanied by a warning buzzer.

Toomuch right foot x icy road = tail out at 5mph before VSC activates

Activates & indicates via dash symbol the instance "slip" occurs in all 4 of my cars including my current IS 250i.e. exactly like your Merc!
