I have had my cambelt done last week. The parts are £30 for cam belt and you are looking around £50 each for an idler and tensioner = £130 tops (can be got cheaper trade) - its advisorable you do them as well. Labour can be anything from £100 to £200 for it. i think Lexus stockport quoted me something like £260 for the belt being done with no idler or tensioner.

Id get the parts yourself and find someone down london that can do lexus timing belts cheap for ya!

Do you have to get the idler and tensioner? Seems alot of money just on parts to sort out the cam belt.

Lexus Southampton charged me £551 inc vat for 100,000 service with cambelt a few weeks ago, didn't think that was too bad esp as they gave me an RX300 demonstrator as a courtesy car.. only problem was they found that the water pump was leaking so final bill was £695 inc vat, plus discs front & rear need replacing soon, oh and so will the the rear tyres.. :crying:

When is it recommended to change the cambelt?

Part numbers for the belt, tensioner and idler? Or should i contact Chris S?

5 yrs or 100,000 miles. timing belt £26 tensioner + idler £55 each or about that. you will get cheaper if you are gold member.
