Urgent! Cars Jacked Up!

How do I remove the rear pads?

Do I need to take off the caliper?

I've taken the wheel off, removed that large clip thing covering both pads, removed that split pin thing which goes through both pads, and am now stuck!

HELP! :crybaby:

I would say that you do need to take off the caliper, cos you would have to push the piston back to get the new pad in.

there was a thread on breaks a while ago...step by step instructions

Yeah i printed that out, but it's not that helpful to people doing it for the first time!

It just says:

4.Remove Pads And Anti-Squeal Shims

But how? not very helpful!

Finally figured out after using manly force that you need to simply pull them out, and they are very stiff!

right I've just done this 30 mins ago so

Nick get a screw driver

where the pad touches the disk just put it in between the 2 and give it a bit of a lever

this push the piston back allow you to wiggle the pads out

make sure you put the shims on the right way, there's allow telling you which way the have face (forward)
