Hi Everyone,

I am a new member to the LOC, and I am looking to buy a 1999 LS.

I am a 46 year old married man living in Liverpool. I would like to get the vehicle converted to LPG and have trawled the internet looking for comprhensive insurance quotes. I do not have any convictions, had any accidents in the last 10 years, would like my wife, who is my age, on the policy (although she has her own car), but unfortunately I would have to park the car in the road. So far my best quote is around £650, this is without protected no claims, legal assistance or a courtsey car should one be needed. Where am I going wrong???

They are having a laugh mate

From what I hear the GS and LS arent that far apart on insurance costs

I have 0 no claims now (bugg** since a bump) over 50 me and the wife drive and i still only pay half that fully comp on a GS

Shop around and when they call you up to ask what you have been quoted elsewhere I suggest you say about £ 250 to 300 and watch the prices tumble

Hi Izzy,

It's cos it's a group 19 and you are leaving it out on the road. Also, the L postcode doesn't help. I am L32 so I know how you feel! Try offering a higher excess but to be fair, £650 is about right for the class of car. Mine was £880 but I have business use and 20K miles per year so cant really use it as a comparison.

Regards

Ken
