Tte Supercharging A Is200 Automatic?

Recommended Posts

Hey,,, I have an Altezza model as200 (1fge) automatic transmission and Im thinking of buying a used TTE Supercharger. I would like to know what changes I have to make on the engine, sparks plugs?? engine oil? transmission oil???...........My biggest concern would be the transmission! I have heard that the supercharger is not friendly with automatic transmission, it often breaks the torque converter? is this true?? and if so what to do to prevent any transmissions problems? thanks! :c

You will only break the torque converter if you have played with the standard kit and increased the waterpump supercharger pulley size or decreased the supercharger nose pulley. The kit has German TUeV certification so it is designed for that vehicle and is safe to use on that vehicle type.

You do not need to perform any other engine modifications - some people change to a colder grade spark plug some do not.

Raj (Rsarin) is a loc member, and has been running his s/c is200 auto for many thousands of miles with no problems at all, only changed his plugs to the ik22.

The other auto you might of heard about, has had work done, to run at higher boost, and is having problems with the autobox.

Can it be used to do the same job though,

or does it need to be a specific cooler for the auto box ?

it cant be used as the majority of the parts, are engine cooler specific.....

Do you mean engine oil cooler? The TDI one looks like it has all the fittings as an engine oil cooler also?

no a transmission cooler!the same thing that is advised to be used when towing a vehicle.I havent got one fitted, but TTE do recommend it.I have an email from ages ago when they advised me to do that, ill try and dig it out as they gave me a fairly technical answer to my question regarding it.

Yup, I was just asking Mat what he meant by "Engine Cooler" in reference to the Pro-lex and TDI cooler kits.
