I'm planning to upgrae my brakes and i'm gonna change the fluid from the DOT3 standard up to DOT5.1,

To do this i've got to drain the whole system and fill it again so i need to know how much fluid i need, Anybody know?

I've looked in the owners manual and it just says DOT3 no amount is specified.

You may be better off getting more, coz you will have to flush/pump the old stuff out :D

just make 10000000% sure it is DOT 5.1 AND NOT DOT5 as you can not mix DOT5 with anything else as it requires different seals and within a day the fluid will be running out of the car.

a few litres should be more than enough - remember to drain/bleed the clutch also as i assume you have the clutch and brake linked together?

Yeah, this is an old thread that I tacked onto because I was asking exactly the same question. I think that the references to them being joined (in the very old postings !) are in relation to using the TTE airbox with the supercharger kit, where I think you have to do away with the clutch reservoir to make the airbox fit.

I'm still interesting in knowing how much brake fluid is needed though !
