Gearbox Knackered

My 3 year old IS200 has got to have work done on the gearbox!

I bought it from Lexus Worcester in 2005 and have had no problems until the warranty ran out in July !!

Has anybody else had this problem.

Lexus are paying for the parts but I will have to pay £900 for labour. :tsktsk:

let me guess - 2nd gear crunch and hard to go into 3rd gear? The gearbox on the IS is crap IMO, its not as if syncromesh is a new thing so it cant be hard to get right.

Typical - the parts will be 5 bob and you will have to stump out nearly a grand ( maybe more with VAT ) :( I would of held out for a fairer deal. Surely under Sale Of Goods etc. a gearbox should last for more that 3 years, then the dealer has to prove that the fault was not inherent in manufacture ......

I have a gearbox hear that you can have for much less than £900!!!

my gear box is still gone on my ls but what makes it worse if i have bought 2 other cars since and have been so busy at work since it went it went to the back of the yard and that was that but i am planing to get to back to the front and get it done and may be start using it
