How can I sort out my boot release as it only sometimes works?

Does the LS400 have a boot release lockout button in the car somewhere, like the LS460? If so, have you checked that?

what year is your ls, my 95 has a boot lockout button below the steering coloum on the right hand side, may be worth a check.

i have a 96 Preg Mark 3 and i am experiencing the same problem - the boot almost always opens from either the switch or remote when the car is not running however when the car is running i cannot open the boot (remote not the switch will work) which is quite annoying !

Also is it just me or are the black pieces of plastic trim on each end of the front bumper it bit low for the car - i have to be extra careful when parking at car parks which have a raised edge so not to hit the front bumper against the edge of the pavement.

Re low clearance, check for broken front springs!

boot release switch does not work when engine running, mines the same, safety feature prob lol

My bumper trims the same to, ive trimmed off the broken bits to make them look ok ish .

will have to price new from the main stealers i think

hi, no worries, there are so many features on these land yachts that i have to re-read the owners manual for reference lol.
