The Ls400 And Rain

Why is rain made so NOISY !!! ..... it spoils the silent drive.

my back and side windows seem ok but the front is really noisy.

Can anyone help... does my winscreen need replacing or is it a rain fault lol.

Wont be going out in the rain again until ive fixed this now lol.

Thats the trouble with ''Up North'' Hard Water. If you moved to the Sunny South where we have ''Soft Water'' you wouldn't hear a drop.

Down here we have to stick our hand out the window to ascertain whether the weather is inclement or whether not, whatever the weather.

My old S500 had double glazing. TO be honest I didn't really see the benefit appart from it sounds cool to say you had double glazing in your car :)

Wind noise was similar, I didn't really think about the rain noise

Rainwater is all soft! It's only when it filters through the ground that it becomes 'hard' (or not as the case may be).

Knowing that rainwater is soft, it can be assumed perfectly safe to drive at 100+ mph in the wet, since the film of water on the car will act as a cushion in the increased likelihood of a crash. Just ask any Audi or VW driver!

I drove a Mk2 Golf for 13 years before changing to my LS400 Mk3. I agree so completely with what you have said above, that I won't add anything except "Hear, hear".
